We make smoked lenses just like yours (factory) or to whatever degree customer wants (without changing the “glossiness” of the lens / OR changed to more “matte” if desired). It cannot be “wiped away” with any acetone etc. and does not reduce output more than about 10% reduction (and that’s only on the DARK ones). Frankly, factory smoked lenses (and your example here) seem pointless since it should really just be called “not totally clear lenses” because the change is virtually unnoticeable rather than actually “camouflaging” them so as not to be readily noticed until activated. **It does look like you’re doing it “the right way”, achieving the factory look for sure….but, I think it’s a bit reckless to claim to be “the only ones who CAN do it”, and the certification you speak of isn’t “for tinting” but rather your “tinted” lights are still certified (SAE, NFPA,KKK etc) after you tint them (but that’s not surprising since there’s a minimal change to the lens). ****Not meant to sound combative or trying to embarrass you - just pointing out some flaws to things you’re presenting as definitive facts. No one could possibly know how everyone else tints (products used, application process, etc), so no one can claim to have a monopoly on “well done” lens tinting. I’m sure you didn’t mean to say it that way, but that’s how it came across…

The way it dried it looked like someone with a vinyl glove was fingering it . People destroy perfectly good lights with spray paint . I know a couple LEO who's department allowed them to tint there liberties and spent the entire week cutting and pasting film. Your process is clearly superior to film or spray paint"tint" aka ruining a light .

Just FYI…we do lenses professionally also - and darker if desired. Also, DIY’era can actually do alright with the spray tints if done with patience….meaning you have to MIST it in one layer at a time for about -12 times depending on desired darkness.***Film also works alright, but you have to remove the lens to install as it can only go on the inside. *Downside is that if you want to tint anything “non-flat” then film won’t work.
