I actually had that happen once. I was trying to film a visit to a pumpkin patch one year (before I was on YT) and I was about to start picking which pumpkin I would carve when the nearby railroad crossing lowered the gates and a train horn scared the kids. Everyone was scrambling to their mommies except me, who just dropped my phone on the grass and covered my ears. We don't have sirens in Palm Beach Gardens, but FPL has some in Port Saint Lucie. In fact, those sirens are Whelen 3016 sirens with a few 4004s.

A 2910 packs more of a punch than a 2810

They are rated for the same SPL, depending on the controller. The first 2910s that used the older 450/435 Hz controller are rated for 126 dB. Both the 2810 and 2910 jump to 129 on a 560 Hz panel. The ratings are calculated when the sirens run in alert.
