I have just 1 question, why is something as small as an ION so expensive? Like, 145 dollars for a ION trio is quite expensive

mostly programing. Programing is often 3/4 the costs of electronic products because it takes hours and requires building appropriate circuits and more. Cheaper sets often reuse third party components as its a common practice for cost savings. Also goes without saying that they are a (relevant to other makers) low volume high demand mfg, so their products are more expensive just because its not mass produced in batches of thousands.

I'll explain in simple terms. Whelen products are honestly some of the finest on the market. At the same time, they are also not mass produced by cheap labor in China or Indonesia. What you're paying for is a combination of their quality, American labor, programming, and quality parts. I'm positive they *could* build in some dump like Indonesia for pennies on the dollar, but the products would absolutely suck.

I couldn't agree more. I need an updated full bar, but no way I can swing those prices. Prices are likely jacked up to sell to agencies. Us little guys just have pray we get seen with what we got.
