I’m a woodworker. I’ve been working with wood for over fifty years. I’ve built furniture, cabinetry, children’s toys and countless other things. I watched your work on this piece with a critical eye. I want you to know I was expecting to see things I would have done differently and by that I mean better. How wrong I was. I can honesty say that the customer was very fortunate to have your skilled hands on their prized piece of furniture. You made that look amazing. Kudos!

Trena... Your toning skills are magical. Amazing how all the repairs disappear... especially cross grain scratches on the top! So great to have these earthly possessions to remember our friends and family after they leave us. They have gone to a place where refinished furniture, or any possession, doesn't exist or matter. Take time to tell your loved ones how much they mean to you, even in their original unrestored condition, before they are gone. This is the time to appreciate and celebrate them. I'm praying no one takes the "time" to fix up all my junk when I'm gone. Time better spent might be to stop by for no reason other than to give me a hug while I'm still here 😁 Thanks for sharing and endless treats for Nessa's appearance.

What a fabulous job on a piece that has so much meaning to Wendy's family. They can look at it and remember her every day. I will say, you sure were into the minutiae of this repair/refinish. You were pointing out teenie weenie, itty-bitty little divots and flaws I don't think anyone else would be able to spot. lol I think this piece must have had a special place in your heart. Not only for its unique style, (you don't see many like this anymore), but for the person it represented. Beautiful all round.

Another amazing and absolutely beautiful piece; truly a labor of love in this one❣️ This was a very touching video. I have several old family pieces, some still in need of restoration, and when I look at those pieces I always fondly think of who the furniture belonged to. It's always a "warm fuzzy" for those who know what that term means. Weird tip about antique glass ... there are many different formulas for glass, especially modern machine made glass, but antique glass generally had a high hands-on involvement and a slower manufacturing process, so it actually behaves as a fluid in some ways, and it is always in a state of very slow flux. Example: the glass in antique windows will be slightly thicker at the bottom. This is more obvious in old softer glass ("softnes" affected by composition and annealing during manufacturing). Those lovely curved panes of glass have likely flowed and snuggled into those doors over the decades. You made the right call to leave them be and work around their stubborn determination to stay in place. Glass hates sudden shock, and trying to remove those treasured curved panes could have likely been their end. I always enjoy and learn from your videos, and I politely envy your ability to have worked alongside your Dad and gleaned knowledge from his wisdom, and now share that wisdome with your Daughter, that is a blessing! I work in stained glass and home restoration, so that's where my understanding of some of glasses quirkier behaviors has come from. I'm always learning and understanding something new, and I love it. Thanks again for sharing your wisdom and skill ! ! !

This story takes me back to when I owed a stained glass business. A customer ordered several windows for her large historic home in the community where I once lived. The windows were large, intricate in design, special ordered glass from Europe and required firing of some of the glass that were painted with frit. The windows would take over two years to make. In the process the owner suddenly passed away when 75% of the windows complete. The daughter told me to continue with the project. Then several weeks later, the daughter was killed in an auto accident. Sadly to say, the estate did not want the windows and I was never paid for the work done since everything was done on a verbal basis with the original owner who was a long time customer. Five years later I eventually used all the windows in a home I was building and they worked out beautifully. So, there was a bright ending to a sad story of losing two friends tragically. But, I'd much rather have their friendships. You do nice work!!!! You are a talented lady!
