Oh oh guys I'm starting to get tired of Sohei x). What do you think of the new hero so far? I'm also working on a video that explains Sohei in detail, because I see a lot of people overestimating the new hero in Dominion.

I have been immensely enjoying him so far, but I have also been playing like a rat. I have literally ran away from capture points to conserve my souls. I think he needs SOMETHING to make him stronger so he is not quite so gimmicky. Obviously nerf the one shot if baseline damage gets a big boost.

Wouldn’t it be cool if his souls somehow powered his feats? Idk what feats he has, didn’t buy him, but you could use souls to activate feats like fire flask, catapult, or the more magical ones like Shaolin’s teleport. Idk I like the battle mage archetype in fantasy and this seems like a system that would work for something like that. He isn’t too hard to fight honestly and my mains are orochi and berserker.

@@spicypineapple2778 Well when he has full souls, his 2nd and 3rd feat activate. 2nd is consume all souls to regain all of his health, and 3rd is just do more damage with the one shot or with normal attacks. The 3rd rewards you for just holding the souls.

The hero is definitely being overestimated by a large majority of casual and average players. In my opinion, Sohei is extremely easy to fight against and take advantage of. -No H/L or L/H chains is a limiter. -Poor hitboxes save for zone and openers. -Predictable. -Low damage -Poor alternate feat selections. -Finisher heavies are very choreographed. Reaction gods will never miss them. -Neutral heavies are slow and have poor tracking. If you're fighting a Sohei and they don't have souls it's usually best to never empty dodge a bash. Just dodge attack to keep GB attempts from catching and them getting 3 souls easy. The below average damage from a parry is better than 3 souls and they'll get only one soul at a time when parrying, keeping you alive longer and making them work harder. If they HAVE souls it's usually best to empty dodge to prevent them from getting a chance to inpale you for 95dmg from a parry. Realistically the 95dmg impale will never land against an experienced duelist that just knows these things and can react to the forward dodge. I'd say he duels better than he team fights on average but he's still a weak duelist to me. The gimick for Sohei is he can deal an extreme amount of damage with one move without using a feat, which can be a remarkable tool in a coordinated gank. Feats can enhance the damage but it would usually be unnecessary methinks. It's a cool ability because other examples of characters that have "earned moves" per se are Shaman with bite via bleed and Cent and Jorm from knockdowns. Shaman's is probably more powerful since it's easier to get and biting also heals, making the health swing closer to 50 in most cases. A shaman can deal a theoretical 100dmg faster than a Sohei can deal 95dmg on average. Cent and Jorm deal much lower damage from their special moves but they're much easier to access. Here's not to say he's weak. He does have a problem I think is too strong and that's his ability to bash after a heavy parry, allowing a 95dmg+ heavy parry punish. In a duel it's more tolerable because you have to let the Sohei get the souls but in Dominion where you can use a 4th feat to gain souls it's kind of ridiculous and completely disproportionate balancing. I'm not sure we'll see Soheis in comp play since he's just not a good team fighter but I could be wrong. The best way to utilize him in comp play would be to simply confirm the bashes, netting a simple 95dmg attack.

Them nerfing its damage to boost his general move set damage wouldn’t be the worst change. You’d still have to earn souls to do the big damage move, but now it isn’t hyper focused into making you only go for the impale or else you have super low damage

If you stare you can counter 99% of sohei players. Anyways new character is a blast to play, (for me) he is not great in 4s (yet somehow people think he is?). He is definitely better as a duelist but overall he is not even remotely OP. If you think I’m wrong, it definitely is a skill issue.

Hot take: Sohei isn't balanced. He is underpowered due to all of his "power" points going to one gimmick. 95 dmg is all he has to offer, and he has to work tirelessly to even get there with 7 different toothpicks for weapons. No protection for him when he gets to use it, either. Too much work for a high risk/mid reward move that only gets improved via external means, instead of by your own merit. (Buffs/Feats/Ganks/Players falling for GB baits for the 69th time)

My idea for him is He needs to collect a soul after any kill, idk why that isn’t a mechanic for him. Also after let’s say 3 soul collected he needs to unlock more properties like unblockable zone attack.

I like sohei so far need to learn him you know he is replace Ocelotl because his tier 1 is a bug and they disable him temporarily for now sohei is only hope Faram until Ocelotl return to matchmaking and back on Action for now he is all we got

Having played him a good amount myself, he seems… kinda weak. I think the biggest reason for that is his really, really low damage output. Some of the others include him having fairly predictable chains, l not a lot of pressure, and slow heavies. Edit: I still quite enjoy him, regardless

sohei is hella weak man, his neutrals decent but his strings are dogshit, his bash rewards are so ass and his damage is hella shit, his gb string should atleast do 5 dmg each if not more cuz u get so little , his feats are underwhelming , his tracking on attacks are so shit his heavy slow and tricky to parry but they can dodge it easily and lastly the most stupidest shit is your teammates can cancel your one hit attack and u wont get your souls back. They did benkei dirty for an actually legendary figure from japan warring eras. edit: my suggestions is to give him a double zone string like raider, improve tracking and just give him better feats, atleast this can downplay how utter dogshit he is in 4v4. he still not gonna be great if these changes are implemented but atleast im not masturbating with sandpaper playing this utter dissapointment of when ubisoft actually makes a historical japanese figure that is asian.
