Man, the summer of '96 I was in my lowest. At 23 I had to give up the sport I loved most of my life and played since I was 6 cause of multiple injuries to knees, ankles, shoulder and back. I didn't want to watch, talk or think basketball, I wanted to crawl in a hole and let be. When the season started, a friend tricked me to watch a Lakers game. I was PISSED at him but he wouldn't let me leave the room. At some point in the game Kobe comes in. With his first move I got reeled back into the game. There was something about this skiny kid that made you sit down and pay attention. In the coming years I went from hating basketball back to being fully in love with it. And it was all because of Kobe. In my life I lost both my parents and my brother but the loss of Kobe somehow was the one that hurt the most. Rest in Peace Kobe and Gigi, and when the time comes I hope we can play a pickup game up in the great court in the sky.

One of my favorite Kobe stories is from one of the girls basketball coaches from my high school. He was invited to a basketball camp his senior year of high school that Kobe also attended. At the beginning of the camp, everyone was going around doing icebreakers, including things like their name, favorite player, hometown, etc. One of these icebreakers was name one weakness in your game. Well when it came turn for Kobe to say his state his one weakness, he said "I don't have any." Legend. Rip Mamba.

Boi this one hit me hard....I was sick to my stomach when I heard about his passing this Sunday. Then when I first heard of it being true I became devastated and my immediate reaction after hearing the news I immediately hoped his daughter, his literal future, wasn't on there then the worst I feared happened when I heard the fate about her. That day continued to get worst when the 7 others on that plane died as well. People that day lost friends, family, people they looked forward to seeing that day but an unfortunate tragedy fell on everyone that day. I can't imagine what the families are going through to cope with this, but I pray that they get through this rough time. Everyone stay blessed you never know when that time for you to go will come. Love you all.

Honestly I feel like Kobe will always be underrated. He was a victim of his era. He based his game on the greats that came before him. Greats that built their game to capitalize on the illegal defense rule. Game that was all about the iso. Then right before he starts to enter his prime, they change the rules making it easier to double team. It took the league 10-15 years to figure out how to use pick and rolls and spacing to improve efficiency. By that time Kobe was on his way out. His numbers don’t reflect how dominant he was, because that style of play wasn’t that efficient against the modern defenses.

It doesn't matter about the number of rings or stats personally. We all remember him because he was just electrifying, legendary and epic. He was a walking highlight reel, every dribble move, every shot, every fadeaway, pump fake, jab step he gave us, was a joy to watch. That is how his greatness I defined. also I like his style of play more, I love the classic shooting guard, that was something special

I started hooping since the age of 8, the first time I saw Kobe was when my Dad show us some clips on how Kobe and Jordan have the same kind of skills, then he bought Nba live 08 I always play as a Lakers because why not? and after that I want to hoop, I don't have the passion to work hard and improve myself because for me basketball is just hobby but when Kobe got injured against the Warrios on playoffs I saw him standing on his feet shooting two feet throws, that give the boost that I need, I've been practicing and playing for almost my whole life. I know I didn't improve so much, I didn't become the player I wanted to be, I didn't grew a 6 ft tall, I don't even have the hops to dunk, I didn't even got on a Varsity team, and a lot of guys outplayed me, even my 16 yearold brother outplayed me (I'm 18 so that's a big deal for me). But still I love playing basketball Kobe taught me so much not just on the basketball court. Its really hard to accept that he's gone. Still I love Kobe. I love basketball. Stay safe yall. Been a fan of you @JxmmyHighroller for 2 years. I always watch your latest uploads. Thank you for thiz Video I know that this won't heal our heart, but this what we really need to see right now. I was instantly drawn to you and idolised you the moment I started following the NBA back in 2008 in my difficult teen years.
