Great video again Adrian. Those old boys were sure made of steel. I'd love to hear some stories from your dad as I'm sure he has many from his decades in farming.. It's would be good to get his memories recorded for your family & farmer of the future as there's not many left from his generation also your mum to as women also played a vital role even more so back in the day. Then & now would make a great video series.

You need to make a map of the farm yard and other features around the farm. When I was in AG Shop in high school we had to practice doing a map. It would show both above ground and below ground pipes, cables, and anything to be aware of when digging or building. The item was labeled and the depth was noted along with any other information.

A trick to make life easier to lay out hoses and cables is to hang the roll on a pipe or pole across the top of the sides of your trailer and then pull the hose out and at the same time eliminate the twisting of the hose, roll it out opposite to it was rolled up in the roll. 😅

Adrian I think you know yourself them steel fence posts, galvanised or not, just won’t do…. Any even tiny breach of the galvanise is the weak spot and this will happen even driving one past a stone. They won’t last in the ground lad…. Particularly the ‘stoney grey soil’ up your parish. Gerry - animal in a machine 🔥

Great video Adrian.. heard good feed back about the galvanized posts.. apparently you can get fasteners for the wire that just clip on to them so handy for splitting fields into paddocks.. be great to get your feed back on them and how they work with your land 👍🏻

Do you suffer severe frosts? I ask because you appear to have not buried the water pipe very deep at all. I fully realise that to do so (put it in deeper) would have interfered with a good number of field drains.

Our frost is normally -1 / -4 It does get lower but that doesn’t happen very often and it’s usually only for a short period, it’s down 18 inches + so should be fine 🤞

Adrian, have you checked the actual well? I'm doing a very similar job here (Co. Clare) and when I ran the pump, it pumped clear water for about 3 mins and then it turned all sandy colour. It looks like the liner in the well is damaged. It's an old well, maybe 50 years. It was perfect years ago but sitting idle for maybe 20 years. That was when we connected to the new mains water. I'm using a submersible pump as well is 50 feet deep. I don't know if I can add an inner liner or not, as current liner is 6 inches and pump is 4 inches.

I’ll be using them in hedges for 2 row of barbed wire this week, for electric they should be good for paddocks like mine so long as they can take the tension of the reels and lines as we strip graze. The insulators are a worry on first impression, if the wire was to ever come off and touch the steel it would be a straight earth to ground. Time will tell 🤷🏻‍♂️

Adrian would the soakaway from the septic system not percolate into the well at some level? It fully depends on the depth of the well and where the well screen is open, but there will likely be some flow from your treatment system into the water. All pending on water quality assessments of course! Just a thought for potentially adding more filters to your system before going to the Parlour. Gerry is an animal on that Hitachi fair play!!

Impressed as always... and especially with the comments and GREAT advice to "Always turn off the power, if you have an electrical cable, turn the thing off, no matter where you think it is"! And by all accounts the good use of intelligence was passed on to the next generation. Great humor, as usual, however sometimes credit needs to be given directly where it is due...so here goes, I'm going to say it for you, Adrian: " Yes Nicole, you're absolutely Right, that is a great intelligent suggestion! Thank you for caring enough to not only be here helping me, but also for being tuned in to what we are doing and I want you to know that I am soo proud of you"!!!😄
