Theory: Johan is both real and a figment of Filips imagination, Johan seems normal at the beginning as a prankster. But, when Filip meets Agatha's dad, Johan goes missing because he was killed by Agatha's dad. Filip hasn't noticed because the experience has scared Filip to where he would fill in the gaps that Johan would fill, basically, a figment of Filip's imagination. When Johan convinced Filip to throw paper at the teacher, that was his attempt to fill in the gaps and cope. When Agatha hits her head on the rock, she dies and Filip isn't able to tell the sub, but, Filip killed Agatha and tried to tell the sub that it was Johan but in Filip's delusion make himself a fool and have to stay till the end of thd day. Agatha and Johan are dead, Johan's spirit haunts Filip. Filip's mother saying how one of his friends were over is a figment as Filip has a panic attack about Agatha's dad. In this last conversation with Johan, Filip in a delirious state, has a full on heart attack that kills him with all the stress built up. Btw, Agatha is chopped up in the box in Filip's delusion.
