@hotstepper887
@hotstepper887 7 ай бұрын
@@LucianDevine Exactly … Even though the truth is, this game today is completely corrupted. All poker sites are unplayable, well unless you're just a mug, that is. Every deck is stacked to deliver action hands. You'll see each player in for the flop catch a small part of each flop, only for someone to lose to a miracle river that hits all the time, (against you), whenever you've got your chips in. The less educated among us, will tell me they hit more, because in online poker we see more hands being played? LOL @ that rubbish. You only need common sense and a history of playing poker, to notice the cheating, and the complete change in everything about the game today, to how it once was. (it's without question the most manipulated game in this world today). Along with online slots, Bingo, etc. It just seems many people have not worked this out yet? And you'll see some of those people, hilariously and so stupidly standing up for the poker site, and many will actually call you names, (for telling them they're being ripped off)? This is the level of intelligence, we're talking about today. LOL. You can play the tightest poker of your life, and you'll always be a loser, why? Obviously, because you'll never win when it counts, when all the money is in. You'll be forced (with the nuts) to get your money in before the turn or river card. For example, you can flop a straight flush, and amazingly someone will bet at you, and whatever you do in reply makes no difference, you can get it all in on the turn, holding the nuts, only to see the same suit hit the river? And of course, your opponent has the higher end of the straight flush, he made on the river? Not once, not twice, but every single time (when you've got your chips in) It's commonly known as a con, a rip-off, and all these people we see and hear deny that? Are either idiots, or getting something from it.

Jamie Gold was a vastly inferior player next to his colleagues. Ironically, the structure of the WSOP with its massive number of entrants (almost 9,000 in 2006), reduces itself to a glorified lottery ticket more than the emergence of skilled play. Chip stacks have a gravitational pull about them which have an inclination to vacuum a tables chips with a comparatively low threshold of skill required to manage it. This is why virtually no poker pro ever won the event during its brightest years. This also why you’d generally see the chip leader at the final table be anywhere from 5x to 10x over the 2nd chip position. To progress in such a structure, you must win your 50/50 coin flips. Win enough of those at the right time and you eventually earn an immunity from such tournament life trials with a 10x or 20x stack. The display of Gold’s actual poker skills came to light on the cash game series “high stakes poker” where all the pros viewed him as a fish, placating him to continue remaining in the game as he weakly conducted himself in search of their approval to be considered “one of them”. He never was and they all, including Gold knew it.

He had a crazy good "talk" game. He talked ALOT of pros into making mistakes. Ones that should have known better too. Yeah, he was running so smooth on water, but he was undeniably good at manipulation too. He really did go right up to the limit of crossing the line. The most notorious moment is when he flashed that Jack to his opponent while bluffing. There are some old pros that believe this was the last year of REAL old school poker...before it got commercialized to hell and back, and I tend to agree. Now we have month long breaks for the final table (dunno if that is still a thing, but I always felt it was a horrible idea), coaching, teaming up, sponsorships, etc. It has essentially become the current state of Black Friday shopping: In name only. Well he’s shady and smart. When doing a business deal make sure you have legitimate backing. Get a lawyer to do the paperwork. His win in the wsop was awesome. He got in people’s minds and it worked. Just never evolved in poker after that

You have no idea what you're talking about. Jamie was NOT sued for all of his winnings. He was sued for half of his winnings. The reason is because he promised half of any winnings to the guy who gave him the entry ticket. You should learn the basic facts before you lie and make videos promoting fake news. Lastly, Jamie is a horrible poker player. He got super lucky. Similar to winning the lottery.

12 million win but after the tax man... 6 million... BTW how did Gold not have the 10K buy in at this time. I also don't think Gold's reputation was hurt by this backing controversy. His reputation was hurt because he was a jack ass at the table.
@Dmckenzie6

I think it's just more if you dont actually think you'll cash for anything big, it makes sense to let someone pay the 10K even if you have the money. Even getting to 20K (the breakeven) is really hard to do in the main event so it's not really a bad bet.
