I think that Dakotas way of accepting and going with the fact that the movie sucked makes her great. She's not blaming "the fans".
@patrickcromwell755417 күн бұрын
Actually NO. I respect what Dakota Johnson did. She KNEW the movie was shit. and instead of openly badmouthing it, she just let her expressions and lack of enthusiasm speak FOR her. No, I would never support an actor who PRETENDS their movie is great just to sell it. That is why people hate Hollywood these days. Actors getting paid tens of millions for bad material and are out here promoting it like it's Tom Cruise and Mission Impossible. I believe that the main reason starts do not actually speak the truth about a movie is because they legally CAN'T. It's in their contracts. they legally CANNOT say anything negative about the movie or its production until after a certain time has passed. Look how long Mark Hamill stayed quiet, after The Last Jedi. Once the gag order was expired he ripped Rion Johnson a new one. Calling HIM out personally for the failures of Star Wars.

No Bunny, I disagree. She literally says it in her post that she signed on for a specific type of roll and it BECAME something else while she was doing it. Meaning that she was baited into it. I'm going to be completely Honest. When Lee Jung Jae signed on For The Acolyte; I doubt he KNEW that Lesley Hedland was going to butcher George Lucas' legacy so completely. I think he was LIED to about just what it was he was going to be doing. Same for Carrie-Anne Moss. I don't think she realised she was going to be killed in Episode 1 and that she was only going to be in short flashbacks.

Since English is not your first language, let me help you out here. At roughly the 17 minute mark you used the word 'diversion', when the word you were looking for was 'diverse'. A diversion is something done to change direction or course of a thought or action. It comes from the root word of 'divert'. Diverse is a word meaning 'various' or 'differing'. It's very easy to see how you could get them mixed up. Those of us who have English as our first or only language could easily mix up the two words as well, since they are so close to each other. I hope this helps. Thank you for all your time and effort you put into all your videos.

Sony/Fox's BIGGEST mistake was not that the movies were shit - although that didn't help - BUT that they tried to have a Spider-Man universe WITHOUT SPIDER-MAN. What level of brain-fart made anyone think that was intelligent. "Yeah, everyone LOVES Spider-Man; so why won't they LOVE all his villains without him??" The fact that many of these villains were only created BECAUSE of Spider-Man's direct involvement went completely over their heads.

Pretty sure Martin started "A Song of Ice an Fire" in 1991 an teh first book released in 1996. I dont think dragging out the show woulda given him time to finish the books, considering as of right now hes been working on them for 34 years. If thats not enuf time then i doubt a couple more seasons worth of time woulda been teh game changer.

Adherence to source material can be great, like Lord of the Rings, but it can also be effective to veer from it. Changing the story means the audience doesn't know what's coming and you can hit them with twists and surprises. For example, the MCU does not follow the source material. The characters are close , with the same powers and similar visual appearance, but the stories are an alternate universe to the comics with similarities but also with significantly unique differences. Even if we've read every comic, when we sit in the theatre we have no idea what's going to happen. I'm very happy they went this route. For example, the emotional impact of Tony Stark, Natasha, Gamora (from that timeline) and Vision dying permanently was pretty heavy because we didn't know it was coming beforehand. Black Panther too , of course, but that was related to Chadwick tragically dying in real life so it wasn't a surprise that they'd have him die in the MCU rather than recast the part.

You can't do better than the source material. If you do, then it's not the source material anymore. Like Shining. The Book is good, and the movie is good, but there's so many differences between the 2 than it's not an adaptation anymore.
@brucenatelee15 күн бұрын
Fans simply want respect for what they made profitable enough to get adapted in the first place. Adaptations across media, imo, should allow a connection between fanbases. I never got into comics because I was never introduced into them properly, seeing only issues at the drug store that my mom never got me. Ended up giving up drawing, wanting to learn the comic style, after high school almost 20 years ago.

If the Harry Potter movies had been MORE faithful to the Books, Cedric's death would have hit MUCH harder. I mean the books paint Cedric as someone everyone loved. he was genuinely a good guy. In Prisoner of Azkaban Cedric grabs the snitch right out of Harry's reach and starts celebrating only to see Harry fall off his broom as Dementors circle around him. the FIRST thing Cedric does is try to get Madame Hootch to to restart the game, because of the outside interference. he did NOT want to win THAT way. Also ever time Cedric's father gloats about how Harry musn't be quite so good, Cedric openly and vocally tells his father that he's going to far; that Harry IS one of the BEST flyers in the school regardless of his fame for being the Boy Who Lived. Harry himself is an incredibly talented Seeker. Cedric REALLY was a good kid. Despite being Harry's competition he never became jealous or spiteful. He encouraged Harry to be even better, to push himself. If the movies had shown even a BIT of that; Cedric would have been an even better character.

To be fair, for Pattinson, I kinda understand. He just came out of Harry Potter, he probably didn't have a lot of opportunity, and when he read the script, he probably thought "No way that this is going to be succesful" since he's not the target audience at all. Still, he could have just stopped caring and butchered his role to get on with it, but despite his dislike for the thing, he still did his best until the end. So yeah, maybe he trashed the movie during the interviews, but he still did his job despirte his feelings.

The biggest shock about season 8 is actually the writing. Yes, Jon DID kill Daenerys, BUT as the son of the last Prince his claim to the Throne CANNOT be just swept aside. The fact that he was ACTUALLY imprisoned and that he accepted it is EFFING ludicrous. He's the legal KING his claim is even MORE than Daenerys's own. it doesn't matter that she's more loved. HE'S THE KING. That's not something that can just be ignored. And then he just accepts being banished??? I can accept Daenerys losing her shit, the way she did; but NOT as quickly. NOT just in a single instance. THAT needed to be fostered. Finding out that her new lover is actually her nephew and the Heir to the throne even above her....that could have fostered some paranoia; but the show just had her snap all of a sudden. After everything she's been through....to "just snap"??????
@Chivaltic17 күн бұрын
The question my co-worker asked me; Is the the heir ? Son of Prince Rhaegar Targaryen ? The series did not give us any alternatives unlike the books. Also Jon said in season 1 to Tyrion Lannister , when he was joining the Night's Watch, that he did not want any titles or children. He just wanted to be part of the Night's Watch, we cannot just ignore that. Yes the series was not true to the source material but George R. R. Martin has not finished the last two books, so the ending might be totally different. So who's fault it really is when producers and writers dont have source material ?
@patrickcromwell755417 күн бұрын
@Chivaltic Yes actually you CAN just ignore what Jon wants. He's the King. It doesn't MATTER what he wants. Facts are facts. The issue is inserting modern thinking into a medieval fantasy society where lineage of blood overrules EVERYTHING. Jon's needs and desires are irrelevant unless they are in line with being a King. Remember this line from Lord of the Rings???"Authority is not given to you to deny the return of the KING, Steward.". Essentially it doesn't matter what either Aragorn nor Denethor WANT. Aragorn IS the King.
@Chivaltic17 күн бұрын
@@patrickcromwell7554 But is Jon actually heir to throne ? Series made it clear, but books has not confirmed or denied it, because we are missing the last two. By medieval thinking that wound make Daenerys heir because there is no proof that Jon is the legitimate heir.
@patrickcromwell755416 күн бұрын
@@Chivaltic But the books are NOT relevant to the show. Why do that.?? Why even mention the books when you KNOW the show started creating their stories to fit into their own vision of what to tell?? Generally I'd agree with the books being a factor. BUT when talking about the context of the shows, the books don't matter because the topic IS NOT whether the books make it clear; the topic is the FACT that Jon is the Heir to the Iron Throne. And YES seeing as this fantasy society is MALE oriented in terms of heirs to the throne - as seen in the case where Tywin tells Cersie that it's a shame she was born a female, because she would have made an impressive King - Male heirs are ALWAYS the heir before females. Also it doesn't matter it if was unclear in the books. The show flat out SAYS that Jon is the son of Reagar Targeryan and Lyanna Stark. It's even documented; though kept incredibly secret. So there IS proof; otherwise why even bring it up. Ned took that secret to his grave. It was The Spider who discovered the truth (or maybe it was Tyrion I can't remember); but how could anyone have discovered it if there was no proof??
@Chivaltic16 күн бұрын
@@patrickcromwell7554 You started with "The biggest shock about season 8 is actually the writing" Some say the writing was bad. If so it was because they did not have source material, the books. That is why i keep mentioning them. Also it was Gilly, Sam's wife whom first read the passing in the series and told it to Sam, whom asked Bran to confirm it, then Bran told it to Jon and Sansa. Sansa told it to Tyrion and Tyrion told the Spider, whom said "it's not a secret if three people know it, it's common knowledge", or something like that.

There are a lot of IP's that I think Marvel and even Disney should try to focus on. For Marvel, I would LOVE if someone talented decided to bring back The Gifted. Seeing as how MCU will be introducing Mutants (FINALLY) The Gifted COULD be a decent show if done right. Marvel's new budgetary pockets will certainly help. However what they MUST do is stop making 6 episode seasons and get back to seasons that are over 12 episodes. They don't NEED big budget blockbuster money for a good show. Take even 25% of that money and focus on a show with heart and good character development. Disney should reintroduce Gargoyles. A Live-Action is likely preferred, but even a new Animation COULD be accepted. Even they started over with a new origin I would at the very least watch episode 1. lol BUT if they did a Live-Action, it would need to be incredibly epic.

I have a love/hate relationship with George R. R. Martin. First "Game of Thrones" came out in 1996, and the last one in 2011, that is nearly 14 years ago, he still has two books to write that he may not ever finish. That is just poor fan service. Yes I know he has done other books and been part of TV series. But is the books we want. So I did not like what se said on the interview.
