Three years makes a big difference. Three years ago we thought my husband was cancer free, now we're facing stage 4 and trying to figure out where to go from here. It all happens so quickly and you dont even realize it! Seven years ago I lived in a completely different state, a different region of the country, never could have believed I'd be where I am now. (Or that I'd be worried about our planned Seattle to Victoria ferry trip). I'm rambling, but thanks for the video!

It took me a number of decades to realize you never get all your ducks in a row and that is just fine. I hope you still have your farm in 5, 10, 20, years from now and you still find meaning in caring for the animals.
Morgan, thank you so much for this video, and for always keeping it so real in this channel. I think the final part is the best takeaway you've ever made in a video, and it's such a thing I had to hear and accept in recent times. I've been following you since 2019 as a vlog I watch routinely as I continue to struggle with my undergrad degree, a degree I'm taking WAY longer to finish than I had originally anticipated, due to all matters of circumstances, family problems and mental health struggles I've been facing for these past 7 years. I've had to tell people over and over about the graduation date delay, which has made me feel deeply ashamed for making it seem like I am not competent, or am a liar, and it is rough being the source of disappointment to family and professors and friends alike, it feels like I'm forever making up excuses and slacking off when I've been putting a lot of effort into my studies, only it is far from enough to do well in this degree. And yet, it is my dream degree, I've been wanting to pursue this career since I was a kid, so I can't let it go. This whole ordeal has taught me a whole lot about patience, resilience, persistence and adaptability, in the face of adversity, as well as learning my limits and what can I do and not do, and how to deal with frustration. I've had to find more strength within myself to keep on showing up to class and keep applying as much as I can than I could ever conceive. And it has helped me grow and learn about who I am and what I can be. I hope this year is the last time I'll say I'll graduate this year, so I'll finally get into a master's already, I've managed to achieve so much already in the meanwhile, my own place, a cat of my own as well, I'm finally controlling my weight, I've discovered I'm trans and went for hormonal treatment to help with my dysphoria, and I've managed to rack up some savings. Also, I've managed to at least figure out I've actually got not only depression and anxiety, but ADHD and probable autism, and am being considered for cPTSD from family trauma, and those may not seem like great diagnostics, but at least knowing what are the sources of my mental issues means I can know what to do to improve myself from it. I'm not a fan of phrases like "it gets better" or "life gets better on your X era" because those assume that things will never go down the drain ever again and you'll never have to suffer through another issue, but at least I can say that I can deal with more things life can throw at myself than ever before, and I'll know not to give up on my dreams, despite how many setbacks I'll have. Let's hope that 2030, we'll be doing more than before!

You describe a path you can see for your future self, and are working towards it. And making it your focus is what I need to be doing more of. So, I feel like you've walked me along a pathway beyond my usual meanderings. I feel encouraged and reminded. So what kind of writing are you aspiring to publish?
@jillhiles143Күн бұрын
@@CherylAnderson-qs4iq I am working on a fiction book called "Farm Girl". It is a combination of a variety of genres. There is crime, mystery, politics and how the main character disagrees with many of the leaders - leaders of the school district, leaders of the city government, leaders of the country; farming with regenerative model plus trying to find the right combination for the extreme weather due to greenhouse gas while having to find justice through weather events that lead to disaster along with the crime that seems to go unpunished. All written from research about farm life as I have zero experience. It is geared for young adults and older. The 2nd book idea is actually trying to take a farm animal (maybe a calf) and talk about it at a grade school level. But this thought came after watching a video all silent from the POV of a goat.

You guys have done so much in three years. In my experience, 3-5 years is when garden bed soil gets to be a more successful soil. Systems in place, I would imagine, take this long to perfect as well. This is video is also a reminder to everyone else to keep trying and not give up. Through this time I've learned alot of things about myself and had the opportunity to learn my value and worth (which is something I struggled with my whole life). I also learned alot of how about the job market is now a days and realize that you have to work through the difficulties of it (as some times it's harder or easier but it's never a sure thing). You have value, know what you want and who you are, and move forward. You can still learn things from failures and roadblocks - you just need to look details.

It's so cool to hear Morgan think that he wanted to do more VR videos, because they were definitely a sign of the times. And how the times were going and where things were moving and just seeing how time kind of snuffed them out. Yes they were fun, but, I don't believe they're practical. I personally don't want to have to move my phone 360° to see everything that's going on. I don't think that is a practical way to watch a video. And I truly believe 90% of people realized that was the case and that's why it died out. I apologize to those who enjoyed those videos but they died out for a reason and most of the population did not enjoy them. (My apologies 360 enjoyers)

Watching on a phone or tablet is definitely an underwhelming experience. I think the real issue is that headset technology like the Apple Vision Pro or meta quest haven’t really taken off like I thought they would. When you watch VR videos on a headset it can feel magical.

They can get a lot of injuries that way & I know you’d feel terribly guilty if someone got hurt. I also recommend tipping the ice to the other side of the fence where no one walks (you can avoid your little trail to come in). 11:41 you’re right, VR/360 is a real struggle to watch & enjoy on an iPad
