Easiest way to avoid this in future is to have a milk crate attached to the front of your quad, filled with coiled LOAD RATED rope with a float attached to one end and the other attached to a solid load bearing part of the quad... If the quad goes for a swim, simply go back to the float bobbing on the surface, use the camera boat to tow it to somewhere you can retrieve it, then start the fun process of draining the diffs, block, intake, airbox and everything else that copped a mouth full of water...
