My favourite video of yours Jamie. Love the honesty and the integrity shown in not editing. Keep being relatable! I am playing of 30 and feel I have a journey of improvement to look forward to after starting 18 months ago. I fully expect you to be sub 20 by the end of 2025 mate and see the smile back on your face😉

That’s great to hear Gary. I toyed with not putting the episode out but had I did now 😀 I really do want to show my entire journey, good and bad. Hopefully more good though 😂 Well done on getting started and I’m sure you’ll see major improvements if you have the time to put the practice in. And thanks for your support on the road to Sub 20 📉

Thanks for posting a honest round of golf! These rounds will happen to us high handicappers, just got to focus on those positive things that happened in the round, move on from the negative!

Cheers mate, already looking forward to the next round 😃 Let’s just hope it goes SLIGHTLY better than this one 😂

Great video as always Jamie. There was some classics in there that had me in stitches 😂😂

Haha cheers mate. It was just absolute chaos. But glad it provided some entertainment. I must admit, watching it back I did let out a few wry smiles, “that’s gonna hit a train” a particular highlight 😂

Happy new year, good to see you back at it, I’m hoping the mrs didn’t get you lessons for Christmas, watching you struggle makes me feel better about my dirt box of a game
@DiaryofaHighHandicapper2 күн бұрын
😂😂😂 well rest assured Derek, you will continue to feel better about your “dirt box of a game” for a little while longer because no lessons were gifted. I was going to invest in some myself but maybe I’ll put that off if it means helping out a valued subscriber 😂 Thanks for watching mate

I think it was brave of you to post this when everything went against you. We all have days like this BUT, in general I think your game is much better than when I started watching you at the beginning of your golf journey. I had a game like this in a competition last year, when nothing but nothing went right. I've come back a bit now though, so keep at it and thank you for keeping us with you along the way.
@DiaryofaHighHandicapper3 күн бұрын
Thanks Tom, I really appreciate that. To be honest, I thought long and hard about whether to post it or not, because I can see how bad my swing looked for at least half, if not all the round 😂 but I had made a commitment to myself that I would try show my entire journey, good or bad. Hopefully some people can find it relatable. Plus, there were a couple of good moments in there too so why not 🤷🏻♂️ I must admit though it was one of those rounds that makes you briefly question what’s the point in continuing but I’m firmly over that now and fully determined to get better at this game. I’m hoping 2025 is the year I can find a bit more time to practice consistently and give it a real go. And thanks very much for staying with me 🤝

Not watched it yet, from comments you had one of those days. My worst round ever in a comp I shot something like 120-130 gross with a 16 handicap and no weather issues. I sank one outt to get a par about 15 feet and other mates playing saw it and me pumping the air and thought I was having a good round 😂 GOLF what a leveller
@DiaryofaHighHandicapperКүн бұрын
😂😂😂 a leveller indeed. It can be so unforgiving. Love that story about the par putt. I remember playing in a scramble a while ago. My putter was on fire. Honestly must have sank 10 raking putts for the team. Then a guy who hadn’t made a putt all day but just so happened to make one on the 18th in front of the clubhouse. Afterwards everyone was coming over to him complimenting him on his putting and he was soaking it up much to my annoyance 😂

Thanks for sharing the video sir! I felt for ye, particularly on 16 as I’ve had a fair few of those myself! (Which is partly why I enjoy your channel) it’s those chip-ins or sweet strikes that keeps me coming back.. (like most of us) Looking forward to your next vid. HNY2YE!

Cheers mate, the round just started to get away from me and then I was having terrible issues with my equipment through out the back 9 that just compounded the issues. But a few nice moments on the front 😅 Thanks for watching as always 👍🏻

Replay your iron shots. When you hit a bad one your club face moved on your back swing. I still can't believe how much you have improved
@DiaryofaHighHandicapper3 күн бұрын
Glad to hear you can notice some improvement. That gives me hope. It didn’t feel like it on the day 😂 but I must admit that early in the round I felt I was striking the irons better than I ever have, so perhaps I should trust that. My swing has deteriorated to be honest, I can see on every shot the club face is wide open and then from there it’s always a battle to get the clubface back squared in time

Enjoyed the video Jamie, haven't been out golfing in nearly 2 months. I know there will be a similar round in me when I get back on the course. I got myself a callaway paradym 3 hybrid I'm dying to give a go with, struggle with the 180-220 yardage. Happy New Year lad. Stephen

Thanks Stephen, glad you enjoyed it. Sorry to hear about your lack of golf, hopefully you’ll get a chance to get out soon 👌🏻 And best of luck with the hybrid, a nice club when you get it working for you 👍🏻 Happy New Year mate and hopefully we’ll get a round in sometime

Fair play lad. Like most high handicappers you need to slow yourself down 🤣 Youd be amazed how much more consistent youll get just from doing that.
@DiaryofaHighHandicapper3 күн бұрын
As Ricky Bobby once said, I just wanna go fast 😂 Ah I know. I would say almost all of my previous good rounds I was focusing almost exclusively on not trying to hit the ball too hard, and I’m always so surprised how much further the ball actually goes 😂 Unfortunately I find when things start going wrong, I tend to try and fix everything else BUT my speed. My mind does funny things on the golf course 🧠
@TheTruckingFootballManager3 күн бұрын
I feel your pain, I know what it's like to lose your head anyway, let alone with something completely unrelated to worry about. Then you add the extra pressure of thinking about what us muppets are going to say and it's a miracle you can even make contact with the ball as far as I'm concerned. Another great video, even if the golf was not, keep it up. Looking forward to watching you hit some targets in 2025.
@DiaryofaHighHandicapper3 күн бұрын
Cheers mate, it’s not a nice place to be 😂 Always try and stay relatively composed but given the equipment difficulties I was having off camera, and the golfing difficulties I was having on it, I really just wanted to get off the course as quickly as possible 😂 But glad you enjoyed the video nonetheless and I’m absolutely positive there will be way more better rounds in 2025. Thanks for following along 👍🏻

Hi Jamie, been a while since your last round, well that was a mixed bag wasnt it, but you did make some nice shots, remember those ones and forget the others.
@DiaryofaHighHandicapper3 күн бұрын
A mixed bag to say the least 😂 Just a complete collapse that I won’t spend too much time thinking about to be honest. And there really was a lot of faffing about going on off camera that I don’t think helped. But thanks for positivity 👍🏻

good video. watch your club face and hands on the first drive just before you start your back swing you twist your wrists and open the face might have caused the slice
@DiaryofaHighHandicapper2 күн бұрын
First and subsequent all drives 😂 That is 100% what caused the sliced. Couldn’t believe how open I got when watching the footage back 😱

Very enjoyable video. A very tight course. It was your driver that let you down. Perhaps a lesson?
@DiaryofaHighHandicapperКүн бұрын
Glad you enjoyed it David. It was very tight indeed, although mainly up the right hand side so I picked a very and course to develop a slice 😂 I did actually take a lesson after this round. It was either that or meet a psychologist so thought I’d try to fix the swing first 😂 Basically worked on what everyone can see, trying to take my backswing back more straight and swinging more in to out 👍🏻

@mikecrowley31023 күн бұрын
On nearly every full shot you had the same fault. Your swing is too fast and you roll your hands open on your back swing .When you get back to the ball your club face is still open and so you hit your shot to the right and high. Your chip shots were much straighter because you kept hands quiet and so came through the ball with a straight clubface.
@WicklowOutdoors3 күн бұрын
Bang on, noticed that myself. Too fast & club face wide open on most shots. Be well worth getting a lesson, could solve everything. All the best 👍 😎
@leetomlinson76653 күн бұрын
@@WicklowOutdoors yeah your correct, i slowed my swing down and i hit the ball way better and further, tempo is the way to go
@DiaryofaHighHandicapper2 күн бұрын
Thanks Mike. As soon as I watched the footage I could see that myself. It’s a bit harder to understand that when you’re mid round out on the course. Although I knew that I was pushing balls because my club face was open, I couldn’t believe HOW open I was taking the club away. For me with golf, what you feel and what you see are two completely different things. Thanks for watching 👍🏻
@DiaryofaHighHandicapper2 күн бұрын
If it’s any consolation, I noticed it too 😂
@DiaryofaHighHandicapper2 күн бұрын
If you look back at my videos from last year (2023) I actually had good tempo. For some reason it’s gotten so quick. I think it’s the lack of being able to practice routinely and concentrating on far too many other things within the swing. Anyway, we go again
@benjaminthompson68268 сағат бұрын
Man use this time of year to get a lesson in once every couple of weeks! You are more than capable. 20 mins every second day focusing on your takeaway and getting a better turn would have you sorted. There’s hardly any hip rotation and you roll the face wide open as you take the club back!

@DiaryofaHighHandicapper2 күн бұрын
@@michaelblack2334 that it is 🌅 That’s because I messed up the video, I wasn’t even sure if I’d release, the footage but I thought seen as I went to the trouble to film most of it, I might as well make an episode out of it. I’m meeting back up with Joe when the weather gets nice and we will do a proper episode, when he will be dutifully introduced 👍🏻

You can play any course without a driver. Better to play a club your confident with than end up in the trees
@DiaryofaHighHandicapper3 күн бұрын
Thanks for the watching and commenting Terence however I would politely disagree, based on my own experiences You may have heard me mention it in the video but prior to this round, driver was one of my main consistent clubs. It also just happens to be my longest by a considerable distance. I find it impossible to score particularly well the times I’ve not used it. Just don’t have the distance with other clubs, nor the confidence. I can put a pitching wedge in the trees just as well as a driver 😂 Even in this video, I put a hybrid into the trees on three and a 5 iron on 12. It was just a very poor round and a complete breakdown in my normal swing. On to the next one

I know the story believe me ! It's mysterious ? - I think the weather has a big effect though ? 2025 will be better !
@DiaryofaHighHandicapper3 күн бұрын
I’m more than happy to blame the weather Fergus 😂 Definitely brighter skies lay ahead in 2025 👍🏻 Absolutely mysterious. Always amazed how such a bad round can come out of nowhere. And conversely, when an incredible round can just pop out of nowhere when you’re in a really bad run of form. Mad game 🤷🏻♂️
