I am from West Bengal. You should look up Bengal Famine ...something most of the people are unaware of. Here's some info: "The Bengal famine of 1943 was a famine in the Bengal province of British India (now Bangladesh, West Bengal and eastern India) during World War II. An estimated 2.1 to 3.8 million, out of a population of 60.3 million, died of starvation, malaria, and other diseases aggravated by malnutrition, population displacement, unsanitary conditions and lack of health care. Millions were impoverished as the crisis overwhelmed large segments of the economy and catastrophically disrupted the social fabric. Eventually, families disintegrated; men sold their small farms and left home to look for work or to join the British Indian Army, and women and children became homeless migrants, often travelling to Calcutta or other large cities in search of organised relief. Historians usually characterise the famine as anthropogenic (man-made), asserting that wartime colonial policies created and then exacerbated the crisis. A minority view holds, however, that the famine was the result of natural causes."

It is man-made. Sources say that Bengal was going through drought at that time. But they had enough stock to feed themselves and survive. But the Britishers, on the command of Winston Churchill, transported all the food as stockpiles to Greece, when our ancestors needed it. Winston Churchill even said(not the exact lines) that he don't care about those beasty people of beasty culture. When told about the condition he later even added, "Why hasn't Gandhi died yet?" This is the reason why so many died...😢

NJ is banning the issue of single use plastic bags from May 2022. Meanwhile, Bengaluru in India has banned this about 5 years ago. If you do not carry your own bags to the grocery stores, you can buy cloth bags at the store. They cannot even throw their garbage in a plastic bag in Bengaluru. I repeat, this happened 5 years ago in Bengaluru (and possibly across other cities and states too). It has yet to happen in many states of USA.

I don't know much about other areas in India but plastics have nearly disappeared in my local town and nearby cities for a while. few years ago, there was plastic on roads, but now barely I see them and on top all sops give those cloth bags. As for what he said is true to every single word. Like the west lectures us and always tells us to do things, even now amidst the conflict in Europe. But we barely gave an ear to them. :} :}

Here in India in many states plastic bags are banned and now people carry their bags whenever they go shopping or it is a great hassle and you have to pray that shopkeeper is selling some bags{made of clothes} unlike before where you didn't need to worry about bags because every stall and shop had plastic carry bags
