I really don’t want to appear as someone who ghosts people but when I focus on others I can’t focus on me i will be completely available for others to a point it drains me. i try to balance it out but I can’t. That’s why I disappear and recharge myself then come back as nothing happened 🤭

At 63 I spend very little time thinking about my identity. When I have to be alone it’s usually because of how I’m feeling emotionally, until it passes - ISFP

I agree that, focusing on identity, has lessened for me as I have aged. I am now 43. But I still think the need is imbedded in the mind of every IXXP. Still, I think being overly concerned about identity is not a healthy trait.

I really wanna say thank you so much, I'm an isfp who is experiencing this fi-ni loop, and it might be why I apear as an intuitive person.. And I even started thinking like what if I was actually an Infp? Or intp/j? But your video helped me to understand.. Also we dont have isfps explaining mbti or doing isfp content on KZbin, so I'm thankful

I have been coming to the realization that I have pretty much always been in the Fi/Ni loop, because I was raised very sheltered. I'm 19 and still living at home because I don't have the courage to leave on my own because I'm so paranoid of the ripple effects.

I sometimes think the concept of “the loop” is painted as though it’s a bad thing. I believe that our middle two functions are relatively balanced. As such, favoring our third function more than our second is not necessarily a terrible thing. The third function would be more of a “go-to” function, while the second function would still be strong. Don’t be too hard on yourself. But also don’t fall into the trap of blaming the way you are on the way you were raised. Countless children of the same parents turn out very differently. You are ultimately in control of your decisions and the direction you take your life. But please don’t look at being Fi/Ni as a bad thing. No matter which functions each of us favors, we all have weaknesses to overcome. Thanks so much for watching. Keep being awesome!

@@myisfpjourney7813 I appreciate this advice! I really don't know any other ISFP adult to ask about this stuff. I think I also am recognizing my gap year as a period of mental growth and awareness, so on the outside, it might not seem like I'm all that productive, but internally, there's an intense and constant battle going on. My main problem is that my internal monologue doesn't stop, so I argue with myself trying to evaluate my feelings from multiple perspectives, which is exhausting. But I see your point about not blaming how I was raised on how I act from here on. My feelings towards my situation are constantly changing.

@@AnonymousShrew - The internal monologue is how Fi seems to figure out who it is and what it feels/believes about everything. It won’t ever stop; and it’s what makes you who you are. But in time, you can learn to quiet it, calm it, and sometimes reject its conclusions when you develop your thinking mind and can begin to see the sometimes rational inconsistencies.

@@myisfpjourney7813 (Thank you so much for replying! It really is making my day.) I saw a video about how people have varying types of internal monologues, and some people talk internally more often than others. I guess because ISFP's are so introverted, it makes sense that they would have a constant one. It's weird how I can feel an certain emotion and simultaneously understand that it's not fair or appropriate, but still feel it anyway. Have you experienced something similar?

I wonder if a prolonged period of this be what's called the Fi-Ni loop for isfps? Would love your input on this!

I want to know your point of view on having a relationship with infj.

It is probably a good match in the sense that both can shore up a couple of weaknesses that the other has. But it would be really difficult for me. I tend to find myself rather offput by people with Extroverted Feeling. So I just don’t know if I could do it. But that is just me. That does not mean all ISFP have the same hang up that I do. Though I definitely think I could manage a relationship with an INFJ way better than an ENFJ. They are great people and I am glad they exist. But that super out of control Extroverted Feeling just doesn’t work for me.

@@myisfpjourney7813 can you tell how it makes you uncomfortable? I am dating an ISFP, it's wonderful, he understands me without even saying anything. He has better intuition than me. I use my Se and Fe more.
