Thanks for posting the video and well done for sticking with it. That takes some doing to have a complete mind reset after the setback, to refocus and carry on when it would have been easy to think “sod it, I’m going home” . Nice one.

What a great win! You mentioned that you ran this before and recalled how you felt then and now so much stronger! Awesome. So you missed 3 km. Hffp…. great mental training to push on!
@ultrarunneradam2 жыл бұрын
Yes def felt stronger - it was one of my first ultras so Ive learnt loads and getting much better confidence - 50 is a tough one to pace as you get to the marathon milestone and the mental demons start playing a few tricks!

Well done for sticking with it Adam, really frustrating that but great you still used it for training and enjoyed the beautiful day up there on the Downs 👍

Well done to you all for sticking it out Adam! I remember getting very confused when I passed you for a 2nd time, thought it must have been your twin or something, it was only near the end I heard talk of the ‘naughty nine’ at an aid station and realised what had happened 😅 You’ll have to return next year and put it right!

We were hoping they were telling runners as they went thru 🤦 we felt a lot better once the race started to catch up with us. A very strange day!

Well done Adam for grinding it out despite the route mishap at the start. I heard some of the 9 dropped out because of it. Great to meet you at Alfriston…that was me on the door!

Gutted for you Adam! I feel your pain, something like a wrong turn (which isn't always your fault) really hits the confidence and is hard to shake. Well done for pressing on and making the most of it. Bet your next race will be super smooth!

Next race is the Snowdon Sky Race this weekend so far from smooth 😂 I was gutted - even left my keys in the taxi on the way home - thanks for watching!

Looks like a beautiful day to be passing the miles on a picturesque course! Glad you didn't let the detour get you! Ultra runners are a tough bunch! Keep pushing!

Well done Adam this is what happens occasionally. It happened to me in a trail marathon at Seaford. Very foggy day and about 30 runners all went the wrong way and ended up arriving at the start again after only 3 miles 😂 . What can you do, nothing you’re powerless - it’s a bit like that horrible feeling when you’ve just been flashed by a speed camera - that happened to me last week- shit happens! 😱😂
@ultrarunneradam2 жыл бұрын
Yup shit happens - its was also trying to work out that it really didnt matter in the scheme of things but still fell bad - took some time to get over it.

Absolutely inspiring stuff boss! It really is great to see a ultra runner of your caliber getting the job done! Just awesome to see the determination and how you push through the tough times. Such a shame about the mistake and the time penalty and like you say slightly harsh for a 1 hour for 3 miles that near the start probably should have gone with 40 or 45 minutes. Despite that you absolutely nailed it boss! 😎🤘🏻

Thanks Ben - shame my legs were so trashed. harsh but fair!

The lady in the naughty nine was Sarah Hill, used to run for the forces with Kelly Holmes, runs a lot with Suzie Chan from Peloton and lives near Frencham pond nearish to you

Nice work Adam, It's good too see the perspective when things go right to shit but there is still a finish and good times. A lot of high level runners seem to either have amazing days or just completely ditch and DNF. It's good to see the balance. It's also bloody nice to live vicariously through parasocial KZbin running buddies. I'm injured right now so I just sit back and watch the "KZbin running club" run instead 😂

You'd think someone would have noticed. My Garmin bleeps 'Off Course' at me when I run on the wrong side of the road, never mind 3 miles away 🙂
@ultrarunneradam2 жыл бұрын
We heard a shout out but ignored it as runners were still behind us. Mine doesnt bleep but pops up on screen so I must have been another planet - once we pickuped the trail I guess I started looking at my watch - who knows.

I enjoy watching ultra but could you please provide a map for those of us who don't live where all of you do? Geographic illiteracy is easily solved with a continental map and a small regional one. Thank you.

What a disaster! that must have really messed with your head for the rest of the race. Beautiful day for it though at least! I am racing this weekend at night in the jungle and already worried about getting lost - watching this hasn't helped!!!

😂😂😂 How was the jungle?
@bigadventuresonaveragetale15632 жыл бұрын
@@ultrarunneradam The jungle was a suitably epic and a really brutal race! I did get lost, but managed a 2nd place overall. Next challenge is trying to capture the madness of that race in my film - going to be a challenge to edit but should be a good one!

Instead of a time penalty I'd just run around the track to make up the mileage
