I grew up a pastors kid, my dad passed away when I was 27. I helped serve the ministry my whole life, there was a switch when I went because I was my fathers child and then when I stayed because I wanted serve Christ. I am no longer a member of the Christian denomination in which I was brought-up. However, were it not for my parents’ abiding faith, lived-out as an example of what Our Lord teaches? I may never have met Christ at all. Our lives are a journey. So is our faith. I am inordinately blessed, that Our Lord graced me with the parents that He did. Romans 8:28

Years ago, I ask My Mama why things happen to Christians but also to bad people. She told me God was "a Just God" so he does for the Good and Bad because he is Just. 😢 my theory was some people don't deserve but after Mama explained God's reason I as a Christian looked as things the Godly way. I was much younger then but my Mama was a wonderful Christian.

Thank you for speaking about consequences of our choices! I think this is so overlooked. A friend often says that her daughter ‘just can’t catch a break’. Well her daughter had two kids then married a guy, not the father, with a history of violence and drugs. Kids are now 12 & 16yo and struggling with big issues. Bad things happen to good people because we live in a fallen world. God does not take free will away from people. Evil exists. God promises to get us through the situations for His glory. He turns what the devil meant for evil into good. We may not understand at the moment, but as you look back at your situation, you will see how He worked everthing for good. We learn to trust no matter what happens. This life is short, eternity with Christ is our reward and then we will see the whys and how they shaped our lives.

I am thankful for the many times the Lord protects us that we do not realize. The testimony of your faith in the midst of trials that God loves us and is with us through those times is comforting. Talking about exact dollar amounts reminds me of something that happened to my mom. Back before she was married & living alone she caught pneumonia. Got such a bad case that she had to go on temporary disability. She got better & returned to work but didn’t get her disability payments from the government. Why? What’d she do wrong? Why is God doing this? Fast forward & her favorite relative in Canada (she was living in California at the time) died & she wanted to go to the funeral but couldn’t afford it. Then she finally got her disability check in the mail - for the exact dollar amount that she’d need to fly to Canada, go to the funeral, say hi to relatives, & fly home. To. The. Penny. She always credits God with that.

As an abused child who suffered many years, I asked this question and did not believe in God. I am 65 years old and will tell you what I have learned. First of all, God did not cause the trouble I had to endure in my life, lets get that straight. But i have come to understand that everyone and I mean everyone faces a life of being tested..each case is unique, and there is no explanation...but I will say this, it is the challenges that build you and you do not realize it until you come out on the other side...We are all here to face tough challenges and learn from them...we all have a cross to carry as did Jesus, they are just all painted different colors...I hope people understand we all are pushed to our limits, and in that we grow our soul...God Bless

I was considering the term you used, when were speaking about that horrible series the chosen, and decided to look up the word, and the meanings, "Blasphemy is an insult that shows contempt, disrespect or lack of reverence concerning a deity, an object considered sacred or something considered inviolable." "Sacrilegious means extremely disrespectful towards something considered sacred. An action that causes deep offense to a believer - like burning a religious text, for example - is sacrilegious. The Latin sacrilegus, "thief of sacred things," was used to describe robbers who plundered graves and temples." one site gave some insight for me, of scriptures, and it goes to show even if you had read a lot of the books of the bible, your mind doesn't always take in what you have read, when reading becomes a rote habit of just reading words.

God is faithful, all the time. You have been through the ringer for sure. But again, God is faithful. You have stood tall against the schemes and attacks of Satan, and God is faithful to come along beside you. Because you are a faithful family, praying and standing tall, Satan deems you as a target. If he didn't see you as a threat, and bringing others to Jesus, he wouldn't bother you. Ravi Zechariah said, "If you choose to sin, you choose to suffer". That has stuck with me for years, and years. In the last few weeks, God has once again shown me 3 times that He takes care of all my needs. Forgiveness and consequences are two different things. I have never had so many ads on your shows, or any other shows here on KZbin. You have been interrupted this evening more times...... God gave us freewill in order to understand , things happen here that and even if we ask for a specific outcome he maya different perspective of the solution than we were seeking ,Soon it will be Easter , and even Jesus asked " Father why have you forsaken me?"... But God wants us to choose him with all hearts and ( freewill) and trust that whatever happens he has equipped us with what we need to get through it, getting through it doesn' t mean doing what we want, but that doesn't mean has not listened to our hearts , be still and listen... I am.... Keep your eyes on him, and be still, be faithful and believe, that' s faith , know his love ... things happen because not only your freewill but the freewill of others, have faith and know he' s given everything we need ... have faith. In my life I have found to ask and believe ...have faith he is God and loves us ... trust his love for us and be thankful. to everything there is a season trust have faith ... we are human, or imperfect it through his merçy we are forgiven our imperfection s... I have never been a fan of Jesus’s pictures, and all the little crosses people hang around. It is an image, and when the Bible speaks of graven images, it did not add a foot note that it was okay to make images of all sorts of images if they involved Jesus. I prayed hours at one time as I was very confused over all the conflicting info about religion and who to follow. I went to bed and dreamed a book was brought to me and it was a plain simple Bible. I felt it was my answer. Ever since stay close to teaching from the Bible and do not involve myself with pastor’s books or even all that any teach. Find it right in that book.

"fill up those things which are wanting of the suffering of Christ..." Colossians 1:24 Christ desires that we participate in the salvation story and desires our participation in His suffering. It is the only thing missing. Being true man, He could only suffer a limited amount. But he wants to sanctify all suffering and make it perfect with his. When a mother who just loses a child, or the cancer patient suffers his pain, or even the recovering addict goes through the turmoil of breaking the addiction, when they offer it in union with our Lord's suffering, they fill up the "one thing lacking". As hard as suffering is, it can be quite beautiful and a source of many graces.
@DebbieHarrison-y3b7 ай бұрын
I believe that the life and suffering of Jesus is 100% enough. There isn’t anything else required for our forgiveness of sin. We suffer for many reasons…decisions we make (choices), to teach us or give us an experience to help others with same need. Nothing else needed to add to Christs suffering to help with forgiveness of sin.

Scripture tells us that when the apostle started speaking in tongues, each man I'm the crowd heard them in their own language. Tongues is simply another word for language and was given as a gift to preach to others of a different language that the one preaching could not speak.

What do you think about Joyce Meyer?

Take this for what it's worth. I've listened to her for 20 years off and on. I have seen all the people calling her out for being a false teacher and their arguments. After listening for that long she has said that in the past she has said things that she now knows was wrong and she shouldn't have said. All of the people calling her out are using clips for 30 years or more and I know those particular things she has said she was wrong in teaching. So I have no problem listening to her but if you find something that you don't think is right then make your own choice.

Why would God not allow souls in heaven to pray or intercede for people on earth who asks them just as they did when they were alive in their body on earth?

I don't know why he doesn't allow it but it's strictly forbidden in Deuteronomy 18:10-14

1 John, 2 John and Jude really talk about false prophets Good pastors will tell you to research and read your Bible to not just take their words. I had a dr once tell me he led Bible study and all you had to do was be a good person. Ah, very wrong. Believe in Jesus and then do the best you can.
