I am not the best player so do whatever fits you but research would work to get him in the field faster and to back him up while attack would work to elimimate bosses faster in my opinion research would work more of the time unless you need to get rid of something faster then I would recommend attack. It's honestly up to you and the situation.

no way this is +70, mine is like 60+5 and has almost the same stats. I can see the damage output whenever it solos a base and his base damage is nearly 150k and when strengthened is ~500k. For being double my level, there is no way the stats on mine should be anywhere close to +70

Stat gain falls off HARD at certain points. I dont remember at what level (I believe it was from 90 total level onwards) you only get the equivalent of 1 level every 4 actual level ups, so like every 10 levels you only get 2 and a half levels of actual stats.
