Hi friends, happy Thursday!
Welcome to the Dark History podcast. How old do you think plastic surgery is? I thought it started like 50/60 years ago. But then someone told me it started because of soldiers injured in WWI, GASP. But then someone else said that forms of plastic surgery had been around since before Jesus. I. Was. Shooketh. I needed to know more. So I started digging, and oooo baby. In today’s episode, we get into the history of Plastic Surgery. How it started, why it started, and when it started. And what does a dog with fake boobs have to do with it??
I appreciate you for coming by, and tune in next week for more Dark History.

Hi! An Indian here! Yes, infact one Hindi phrase we use very commonly owes it’s origins to the Nose chopping. “Naak Katvadi “ meaning got your nose chopped off is a way of telling someone they did something shameful! 😝 Bailey! Absolutely Love love love your videos and you! ♥️

i’m interested to see if there’s any dark history behind frats and sororities. maybe there’s not, but a video i seen recently has me wondering. the video was about a girl’s experience with the competitive and exhausting process of rushing, as well as many of the people involved being very toxic. that may have nothing to do with the history of them, but i’m curious about it (especially after learning about where SATs started).

I got my nose done back in 2020 and it's the best thing I ever did!! I'd had my nose broken twice in the past and felt my nose was disfigured, it was huge tbf. But now, I love my nose! People often sneer at cosmetic surgery but I say if you want it, get it. Just don't go cheap! Only go for the best for your body! ❤
@kitkatbar996
@kitkatbar996 Жыл бұрын
Personally, I only sneer at celebrities because they lie and go way overboard, and ruin their faces and/or body. And they are big influences of society, especially young girls. I like seeing the results for everyday normal people like yourselves, it always looks great! I personally will never get it unless I get into some kind of disfiguring accident, but I am actually very happy with my appearance. You do you though!
@jeishiikanzaki
@jeishiikanzaki Жыл бұрын
I think that's the issue for me. It's a right of the privileged. poor people don't have the option even if its a disfigurement. It's hard to get cleared for any cosmetic surgery unless you can prove you need it to improve your quality of life. Even if you have extreme weight loss and have excess skin you have to fight for help with removing it.

I REMEMBER that news story about the guy suing his wife! It is fake though, it was originally published in a Chinese tabloid infamous for printing baseless urban legends before it got out onto the internet. Apparently the story originated as a "moral warning" against "excessive vanity"- also maybe as a backlash against how common plastic surgery is in South Korea, which racists in China love to feel superior to. (South Korea is THE place for plastic surgery and it's almost routine for girls to get something done as part of their graduation present when they finish high school.)

Bailey has the remarkable and uncanny ability to as she said in her opener for this one, get her audience to sit back and relax, managing with complete success to affect a soothing impact upon us, her adoring listeners… while the content flowing from her beautiful and amazing voice happens to be oftentimes so alarming and disturbing and depressing and violent and on and on and on….still all the while maintaining her calming affect on us mesmerized listeners. Bailey’s voice is better medicine than any benzo! No one will convince me otherwise!

If she is going to dedicate the time and resources to research and produce this amount of content- why wouldn’t she monetize and accept advertising offers? She needs to earn an income. You want her to do all of this with zero compensation?
