Often, he does care about what others think of him unlike other versions. This Ben is way more like 23 than the others which is why they also get along well. They’re mirrors of each other, a what-if regarding if he never had these influences, his ego is stronger than his selfishness. Anything for the fame and admiration of others than his own selfish needs. Rather, self-absorbed.

Aside from the bubbles, there's Alien Force. And I think I first learned about Alien Force Kevin (and pretty much Alien Force as a whole) via a PSP video game, which got me both confused and excited to have him as an ally alongside Ben and Gwen. Also, I still don't think I've bothered to look much into how Kevin got out of being that hating Ominitrix chimera and into that car-loving armor bro. Because imagine your Grandpa takes you to the premiere of a game you have been really looking forward to, but your cousin starts complaining about the heat, so you have to buy the game alone (Max definetly left Ben the money to buy it but still, he’s ten, I don’t care if he has the most powerful device in the universe protecting him, he’s 10) while Grandpa takes Gwen god knows where (because it clearly wasn’t the RV, or else Ben would have ran into Gwen and Max on the way), so than after your finished buying it, they still aren’t here, but you really want to play your new game, and you figure that Grandpa took Gwen to the RV, so you decide to head back. And when you get back, Grandpa and Gwen still aren’t there, and you still really want to play the game, so you figure that Gerandpa and Gwen will see your not at the store and head back to the RV, so you just start playing your game, having a blast. And when they finally get home your cousin starts yelling at you for something you didn’t do, and didn’t even think of doing at the place you were just at, and then she turns on the news, and you see that you know have to deal with a dopleganger, all while your cousin refuses to believe you, when you just wanted to play your new game that day

5:55 multiple reasons why Ben doesn’t get the alien he wants every time -He slaps the omnitrix too hard and it causes a random selection. -the Omnitrix is fused with Ben’s DNA and knows how serious the situation as well as ben so at times it will pick the best alien for the situation. Ben once fought a sea monster and wanted ripjaws but got xlr8 but I think ben was more effective with saving the civilians with xlr8. The watch knows ben better than ben knows himself -PLOT. If ben got every alien he wanted every time fights would be shorter and every episode would be 10 minutes. The watch is OP so the writers needed something to kinda handicap ben at any point in time. Like Superman with kryptonite -May seem like the watch is trolling but it’s taught him how to adapt in any situation. Ben may want stinkfly to chase a criminal but he may get heatblast. So ben learned how to use heatblast’s pyrokinesis to make a construct to allow him to still fly.

So reason he gets the wrong alien is because he doesn’t have the full master control and in this series the Omnitrix was still in prototype phase however in the newer series after classic and ultimate alien he got master control in omniverse wich only made him get the wrong alien even more only because the omitrix is still delicate and because he slams down the Omnitrix the button smacks into the core and messes up the omnitrix and the wrong alien appears if he just pressed it down normally this wouldn’t be an issue
