I don't do black Friday. I already can't stand shopping when the store is just regular busy because people irritate me so much. It's just not worth it to me. One small thing here: could you please make sure to be clear about the people's names you put in front of the faces? I've just had it happen quite a few times where I'm thinking the wrong person is the assailant because the name of the victim was flashed in front of the assailant's face. Back in 89, I worked my first Black Friday at a Hallmark in the mall. I wrongly believed that it would be no big deal since it was just a card shop. There was such a crush of bodies against both gates, it was insane and I was barely able to get them open. It was absolutely ridiculous. We sold cards, cheap but overpriced tourist souvenirs and precious moments figurines. People lost all good sense over some flipping cards!

11:20 it always fucks me up when neighbors say they heard screams and loud noises coming from the apartment and don’t do anything to help. Just calling the police would be sufficient yet almost always do absolutely nothing. As a child my stepfather used to beat my mother and I remember her screaming for help for 20 minutes around 11pm in our apartments while I hid in my bedroom. It wasn’t until I snuck out the window and banged on a neighbors door in my underwear they the police were called. I knew she was aware of what was happening because the walls were paper thin. Since then I learned to only rely on myself because people are apathetic and/or just plain lazy

I was never a rabid lunatic on Black Friday-but when I was much younger (and before online shopping basically made it obsolete) I definitely enjoyed the “thrill of the bargain hunt” back in the day…🤷‍♀️😁 I remember when I moved across the country for college, I was able to get almost every kitchen appliance that I needed/wanted for under $40, because everything was on the *”DOORBUSTER* list” and was between $3-$6! I worked many graveyard shifts in a gas station back in the early 80's. It was on a dark stretch of highway but not extremely isolated. Kinda creepy customers would come in on occasion. I always had a coworker with me but sometimes they were very young and easily scared. Oh yeah and I'm a female. So no problem working the graveyard shift.

I remember when I was a kid and my parents would get a Montgomery Ward and Sears catalog in the mail, and I would circle what I wanted for Christmas.
