If the actor isn't visually impaired, he does an amazing job portraying one, tapping the cane around steps and walls very accurately. I love those people who gave him verbal cues about where to go and obstacles in front of him, that's how I was though how to guide a blind person too.

Chenyang! Some advice for next time you use the cane- you should slide the cane side to side instead of tapping a lot. It will be more convincing to others trying to help you during these social experiments.
@malgok97338 ай бұрын
I work with blind people and a lot of them dont slide either really depends on person the spectrum of visibility and many more aspects. 😉😁for dome of people i know they have it just to give people awarness that there is a person who dont see among them. ✌️

I've been some visually impaired people tap it to see for far things are. Swinging is usually when you're walking for longer and you want to know if there's any objects in front of you. Also, people who still have a bit of vision will prefer to tap it, as far as I know.

Heartwarming but not an accurate representation of the blind community. Firstly blindness is on a spectrum (you can be legally blind but still see shapes, some light, etc.), and also blind people are not children. They should not be patronized. For example, the entitlement people assume to just grab a blind person's hand and pull them in different directions is exceptionally disrespectful (would you feel ok to grab a stranger off the streets without asking for permission?). None of the people here thought to ask if they could touch them. Well meaning, yes. But I wish the populace could be more educated about how to be more respectful to the blind community.
@YESWEKENNEN8 ай бұрын
It's a good video but be careful. You need to ask a blind person before touching her. They might not feel confortable getting touched like that. I know that its better to grab their shoulder rather than their arm.
