I am very happy with the love story of Nathan and Elizabeth. I do understand why Elizabeth had to break up because it was a rebound relationship. The reason I know this is I went through a similar situation in real life. One wants to believe that there is real love in the situation and one wants to believe it will work because it seems safe and what does it matter you have lost the love of your life and you'll never have that again. This is probably the best you will get now, so you ignore difference in values, ect and try to tell yourself it will work. But it doesn't because if one goes that route after you are married the chasm gets bigger and regret set in that you didn't wait , and completely work through your grief. The problem is others encourage you to do this they think it is the right thing to make you happy once more and it isn't. It is just that others don't want to face the fact of your loss so they think that they have to get that person together with someone else, it brings relief to them, because they think all will be happiness again. I am glad that the writers didn't let that happen between Lucus and Elizabeth, because their goals and life styles were to different and they would have been miserable in the long run.

I do not mix reality and fiction. I do know the difference, however, I also know the influence that a fictional story can have on people that might be in a vulnerable situation like or similar to the one they are seeing which in seeing it can cause them to make a wrong decision. Thinking "Oh it works for them (even though it is a fictional story) may it will work for me" when people are thar vulnerable they are not always thinking as clearly and can gloss over potential problems that will happen later on. And no I did not find my "Nathan" I lived the other scenario.

I love this series because it focuses on love which is what we are in reality. It gets us away from the abundance of how to kill someone in the other shows. I sometimes wonder if we are being ptogrammed and that is why so much shooting and stabbing is occurring.

Someone said that Elizabeth is not the person she was before, well in reality no one is the same after they have lost their love. Especially in the way Jack died. The writers did it true to life. I am glad. In watching this I cried when Jack died and they had such a short time together. I identified with Elisabeth so much. I knew those feeling. And then when she decided to get together with Lucus I could understand that but I wanted to shout to her NO don't go that route you will regret it. Seeing all those episodes made me feel I was living through my life again.

I have been pretty discussed with season 11 of when calls the heart. None of this storyline makes no sense. The breakup of Elizabeth and Lucas was so stupid. They had chemistry as a couple. They were fun to watch and seemed to deal with each other’s emotions. The story line used to be exciting and romantic but now dull. Paring Elizabeth with Nathan is so wrong. I don’t even like Elizabeth’s character now. She seems like acts like a teenager who needs to grow up. I use to like WCTH but now I don’t care if I miss an episode it is just not exciting anymore. Sorry I tried to give it a chance but I am done.

So disappointed with the breakup of Elizabeth & Lucas. The whole change in their storyline doesn't make sense. After having built a beautiful, loving relationship between Elizabeth & Lucas, Elizabeth decides she's ALWAYS had feelings for Nathan? Friends, yes, but nothing else. I've gone back & watched Seasons 6-9 & I'm bewildered that the writers, plus Brian Bird, Lindsey Sterman & Erin, would think most fans would be happy with these changes. Erin said in an interview that they like this change & didn't want to make fans mad....she definitely had to be talking only about TN fans. I'm not watching most of Elizabeth & Nathan's story, too unbelievable & nauseating. I'm trying to stick with the show through Season 11, but unless there's great improvements with ALL other HV characters, I'll be done with WCTH. I'll continue to watch my DVD's from Season 1-9. Along side my DVD's of Little House on the Prairie, The Walton's, Gilmore Girls & individual Hallmark movies.

Well said. Elizabeth has been also brought up with the same classy background as Lucas. End of season 10 was a disappointement. Season 11vNathan and Elizabeth are very superficial and not natural. It does not coe from the heart. It is like the are forcing themselves to fall in love. Nathan does show loving eyes towards Elizabeth. She seems frivolus changing back to Nathan.

That's who Erin was referring to when she said "we don't want to make any fans mad". Yes, Nathan's eyes show he's romantically attracted to Elizabeth, but his body language doesn't & Elizabeth doesn't show either. Not only does E&N's relationship look forced, but the dialogue between them is lacking. They're just blah & totally boring & IMO, their kissing scenes won't be anything to get excited about. So sad that this 'soulmate', 'end game' couple is not worth the time to watch.

It's disappointing when a great story goes south because they want to milk it for everything they can. The retcon will ruin the final chapters of this beautiful love story between Lucas and Elizabeth...unless, the writers hit it out of the part with some plausible explanations for Elizabeth's temporary loss of sanity, they remind Elizabeth all the problematic obstacles with Nathan and his previous dishonesty about Jack's death (which is brought back to the forefront at the end of season 11) and let Elizabeth realize just how enduring and loyal Lucas's love is for her through it all!

The break-up of L&E was going to happen. Elizabeth never wanted to leave HV, and Lucas knew this, Elizabeth Told him she didn't want to Move and leave Rosemary. Elizabeth never refused Nathen, because of his uniform. She loved the uniform. She was afraid to Loose Nathan, like she lost Jack. I’ve been watching since season 1 and I didn’t get the E & L relationship. They couldn’t be more different. E & N have more in common. I felt 9 & 10 showed E & N getting closer. I really enjoyed season 11 for reasons people don’t. I enjoyed the different stories they told. I loved the different emotions these actors showed. And the kids are awesome. I also watched a writers after show and they shared they have picked up new viewers which I was happy hearing. I’m sorry a lot of you are so disappointed

Hate to repeat myself, but here goes anyway. I've already twice described the same viable scenario for the (personally much desired) return of Jack, so won't do so in detail again (perhaps "Movie Addicts" can repost!) I'll be so disappointed if Jack's not brought back to continue the 'Jack and Elizabeth story', coming to terms with what's happened and the shock of Jack being found alive, nursing him back to full health and continuing restored memory loss. I'm sorry to disagree vehemently with so many who love 'Nathan and Elizabeth'. Try as I have, I can't make myself even like (never mind love) this pairing, who (for me) just don't belong or 'sit well together'! Started off not liking/wary of Lucas, but started to love him, as his part/character was unfolded, to this loving, caring (complex) man. I thought he and Elizabeth had great chemistry and there was definitely a future for them. She expressed her love so many times, dreamt of their future, allowed him to open his heart to wee Jack and the two bonded so well. That the writers/anyone thought it ok to end the relationship so cruelly and abruptly, was horrible. Lucas must stay and deserves a new love, who'll love him in return, as he deserves. (Elizabeth's behaviour doesn't deserve him!) I only hope that the reason for this cold break and what I hope is 'a very short-lived romance with Nathan', is because there are ongoing plans for Jack returning and the writers couldn't allow Elizabeth's character to go through with the planned, upcoming marriage of Lucas and Elizabeth. It's the only way I'll forgive what they did to Lucas and Elizabeth's cold picking-up with Nathan, so easily discarding the close, loving relationship with Lucas and his feelings invested in her and Jack. No amount of 'throw-away, I hope Lucas isn't hurt/ok with my hidden, growing love of Nathan/while living a lie of pretence of loving and breaking the heart of Lucas'! No, the only way that will be forgiven, is the return of Jack, Elizabeth's great love and the one who didn't allow her 'all her own way'! Sorry, but I don't think I could find the interest to continue with the 'bore-fest' of Nathan and Elizabeth, which is more about 'the Mountie/uniform/for the children' and the reality that, if Jack's really not coming back, Elizabeth's character would need to grow up and stop acting like the 'young, naive teacher ..'! Jack's loss is the only loss/challenge that Elizabeth has ever had. Bring back Jack and Elizabeth! Definitely want Abigail back and would like her character and Bill to 'start again as a quickly budding/bonding couple'. Always thought 'Abigail' hypocritical, in that she could forgive 'everyone of anything', except that very stupid 'mistake of omission of whole truth' by Bill, no matter how many times he expressed his regret and sorrow that he had embarrassed and put her in such a situation. I love Henry and Abigail, but feel that Abigail and Bill would make a fantastic 'stalwart couple of Hope Valley'!

I believe Elizabeth will not be with Nathan much longer. Her words telling Henry i can't do this again. Again, meaning Nathan is a Mountie, she is so scared he Might get killed, doesn't care how that's the way. I see it. This is way, 😢Jack had an accident, even though he said when Jack and Elizabeth were in the mine, Jack said I'm good at what he does reconnects with Lucas, with all he's hiding about his past., either she will lose in the end.

I kept hoping for so long that they'd see how wrong it was to breakup E&L & that E&N just don't have any chemistry, but Brian Bird, Lindsey Sterman & Erin have said it more than once that they believe the changes are good..... there's no way they'll ever admit they made a mistake & ruined the show. I've been watching since Season 1, loved this show & never in a million years did I ever think I'd stop enjoying their stories. I'm 74 years old & they broke me. In my heart & mind I just cannot tolerate the changes made to Elizabeth's or Nathan's character.

Sorry WCTH has done nothing for me this year. This show is so confusing and jumps all over the place. I have been watching this show for years but I have lost interest in it. The show has no chemistry. Paring up Elizabeth and Nathan was a mistake. They definitely have no chemistry. Lucas is a very interesting character and he has a mysterious past. He needs to stay in the lead.
