Long-term viewer here, I usually put off watching tournament videos because I want to see the earlier videos first! Nothing you can really do about that, but I appreciate you putting them up for a binge-watch later. If anything, it maybe feels like there's too many *different* tournaments to catch up on, but I know it supports the growing community of content creators, which has its merits. Keep up the good work!
@mikamitchaКүн бұрын
I think theres always a balance to strike between what makes money versus happiness, and it is especially accurate in content creation because of how many hours you have to put into it behind the scenes, making burnout much easier (like movies/TV, its easy to think that it only takes an hour to create an hour of content). Personally, I like non-tournament content more because its more relaxed and I get some patented Peteman tangents, but I think its equally important for you to keep uploading what you enjoy making.

Pete’s feigned alarm at Aus player breaking alliance was priceless. 🤣

Pete I will say that I enjoy watching non-tournament videos more b/c i can relate more to the ranked online games. I like to see how you deal with similar situations we all get into playing this game with randoms. The tournament games are cool to see once in a while, but I don't play in games where everyone is playing optimally and therefore its harder for me to see myself in those situations.

I watch all your videos Pete! They greatly increase that value of my mealtimes.
@MppMajikКүн бұрын
Since you brought it up in the video, i have thought before that for your Tourney games, it would be cool if you watched them after and explained the games that way

That way you can A) play your best game and B) explain everything also. I realize how much more work this is though

I agree with much if the comment about the audio being so important. But i think it falls a little short. Not only are their mics often less good but also it is VERY rare that im able to follow along with who (and by that means what color are they) is talking other than Pete. Its incredibly frustrating. Also, i care about what Pete is talking about whatever but the only comments i care about from the other tournament people is specifically how it relates to the game.

41:13 "If he breaks, I kill him" - Aren't you basically playing for second at this point anyway. I do not think that as yellow I would worry about pissing you off at this point in the game. That ship sailed when yellow decided to steal australia.

Love the GM vs having fun (great show) question. Now I think you will probably play more like my style and your content will be a bit more meaningful to me. When I do decide to pick up the game, or watch a vid, I am totally in to the psychological aspect of trying to see what people are thinking with the absolute bare minimum of information. And yeah, I will slam that noob in "my" bonus 10 out of 10 times, then try to survive it. 100% the desire to get laid. thats a no brainer for workout motive. that and not wanting to be a decrepit old man. So when you hit the 9, i was totally thinking to move your stack to Afghanistan and card block white (hah, someone in your stream said the same!). thats just me. anyways, thanks for the content. nice vibe to this show!
@khure711Күн бұрын
26:54 hey Pete, would be interesting to know your thoughts on this move, instead taking Africa, then blocking against that black 22 stack, could have made the game more spicy I figured.

I prefer your non tournament games because tournament games tend to be less entertaining. It's usually more predictable and often nothing happens until then end when someone tries and either feeds the game or succeed. In non-tournament games, you have hazards, fun, comebacks ... You also tend to be more jovial.
@i.m.9823Күн бұрын
Tournaments are TV-series where we are rooting for you, and you inevitably lose in most of them. Tournament videos would work better IMO if you merely narrated a series with expert commentary, without participating. Unfortunately that would require a "viewer-only" participation feature by SMG...

I honestly don't think you can do anything to make tournament risk interesting to the average viewer. The higher quality the risk players the more boring and predictable the the game. The noobs actually make risk videos interesting. The settings on tournaments to make it fair also make it boring because fair settings with good players will stalemate or to get around that they use 70% which is an inherently boring viewing mode 95% of the time.

You often express your dissatisfaction with the state of politics where you live. Have you considered trying to run for local political offices since your previous attempt? Local politics have the most effect on the daily lives of people generally. As a successful menial small business-owner, you would probably appeal to a lot of regular people.
@TheKillPeteStrategy23 сағат бұрын
After my original experience I concluded that I would only be interested in trying that again with financial and strategic backing. And since my ideas tend to be iconoclastic no such backing has yet materialized. Speaking publicly in the way that I do has more of an impact than the job I applied for last which was essentially the complaint department for busybody nimbys and housewives.
@uralskicossack23 сағат бұрын
@@TheKillPeteStrategy Understandable. I'm not familiar with the political dynamics in Canada, but in US one of the most influential in the long term local positions are with the local school boards. Have you considered getting involved in that? I think someone educated in philosophical matters, as you are, could make a great positive contribution in that area.
@TheKillPeteStrategy22 сағат бұрын
@@uralskicossack This is the same here. Trustee is the entry level political job. Where I was at before in 2008 that would have been a lateral move. Where I'm at now it's a step down.
