Tony Hawk seems to not be recognized a lot. He posts about it and it's very often hilarious. I know a guy who worked event security way back in the day when we were in college. He's a big dude... a few inches over six feet, muscular, etc. He's a nice guy but imposing. The security person told him to not let anyone into a dressing room and left. Later, someone tried to get in and the guy I know wouldn't let him in. The guy tried to get in by saying things like "it's my dressing room", etc. but orders are orders... no one goes in. The guy leaves and returns with the security boss who explained that the guy was, in fact, Jon Bon Jovi, a member of the band (Slippery When Wet Tour), and it was his dressing room and that he was allowed in the dressing room. They all had a good laugh about it and Jon Bon Jovi praised him for following orders and being good security. They invited him to eat and hang out with the band and friends after the show.

I’ve met an NBA player just out and about once. He happened to be Mugsy Bogues, the shortest NBA player in league history. I was 99% sure it was him, so I asked him just to be sure as we were riding up in a parking lot elevator. He was cool and we had a short conversation before going our separate ways.

Back in 1998 they were shooting a movie down the street where I lived. My girlfriend at the time and my dog and I went down to check it out. We had know idea what the movie was or who was in it. The streets were blocked off for traffic but you could walk down. About 50 people were there. We were standing on the side of the curb a SUV pulls up right in front of us like 5ft. And Kevin Costner, Paul Newman, and Robin Wright Penn step out. And I said holy shit it's Kevin Costner, and he laughed and said hi, shook my hand and pet my dog. Very nice guy. But shy. Security guided Paul Newman away. I think he was in his 80's. Robin Wright started walking away from the crowd and was standing about 30ft on the otherside of the street. Someone asked who she was and I said her name. They asked what movies she was in and I said she played Jenny on Forest Gump. "Run forest run" and the crowd laughed. When I turned to look at Robin her eyes were glued to me like laser beams. She heard me and she didn't like it. People were like she heard you. We all laughed except her. She's probably heard it a million times.

Weird Al used to come into the bar I worked at in Vegas in the early 90's. People would approach him and he would deny being Weird Al and say " people always tell me I look like that guy". Lol John Wayne Bobbit came in the bar too. What an ass that guy was. I threw him out and everyone was yelling "cut him off"!! I also put a drink special up that said "The Loraina : we don't know what's in it but after one you arr cut off ". He HATED that!! Lol

People are just going about their lives. They aren't LOOKING for celebrities. I met many when I was a bartender in Vegas. William Shatner and Redd Foxx were my all time favorites. Foxx liked to gamble the Keno machines at Sam's Town. I loved hanging out and gambling with him. He was hilarious AND kind!! He never met a stranger!!!

in some cases you are afraid to be wrong. I was in a store.... and about 10 larger sized men walked in.... they were black men... An older women who worked there said... are you on a football team.... and one of the men seemed upset by the question and in an angry tone... said and why can't we be on the chess team? The women was embarrassed. I would have thought the same thing if most of them were white...It was not their color, it was their size and the fact that it was a group of 10 large men.
