This a serious statement? Theres a familiarity with other officers. They can gauge what the person is likely to do or not do. Officers dont engage suspects WANTING to use lethal force (despite what idiots blather about on the internet). So when an officer engages another officer for something small like a DUI yeah ofcourse theyll be chill. And as you can see in the video most officers caught doing something illegal theyre not as violent and combative as others may be. Your comment means you skipped any form of critical thinking and went straight to "CoPs Bad 🥴"

Perks of the job i suppose (however wrong it is/was) It's like working in a restaurant or something and not having to pay for the food 😂 Or a factory and one of your colleagues/mates messes up, you normally try to help them. 100% different in a cop situation obviously but they won't see it like that

@@LeQuitoFacts, I live in Loveland and it's a very highly populated area. There is a bike trail right through the town where all the bars and restaurants are at. It's 25 mph and no matter which way you go you're crossing the bike trail. Even at night you have close to 200 people (families with their children) walking to these places cause there is 0 parking around the restaurants. They're all clumped together and down the bike path. It's a beautiful area, but her being that drunk driving through there... I'm not surprised at all she was pulled over. The cops stay in that area and there's quite a few that patrol at all times.

Love how Augie was given every respect you can imagine .... but if someone else had acted the same way, they'd have been tazed, face-planted into the concrete and had multiple charges logged against them. @#$% THIS!!!! Officers not only should be held to the same standard, they should be held to an even higher standard if a crime is committed because they're entrusted to enforcing the laws surrounding such behavior, arresting people and taking away their rights as well as supposedly "Protecting" those who can't protect themselves. Prosecute the over-sized bastard and get it over with.

I agree, but also it kinda depends on the area, sometimes, tbh. Might be a small rural area where the cops don't have better shit to do, for example. I grew up in a small town, and got into a small accident and subsequently arrested, one of the cops or EMS or something on-scene did me a favor after I was taken away and drove my car back to my house (a mile or 2 on back roads) - and I didn't know anybody there. No bill or tow truck or anything, somebody just did me a solid b/c it was near my house and they had nothing better to do. Never found out who, was just waiting for me when I got home. As for spending the night in jail, it depends on the PD's policy. Some require that you sober up before letting you go home, but some will let you go sooner if you have somebody pick you up, as is usually the case with minors. The gun thing is the big one for me, though. There's no real excuse for that Cops usually give other cops leeway there b/c it's their service weapon, but a lot of avg people would get have that tacked on as well.

I realize this can be seen as an excuse, but when these officers come across people in public they deal with, they have no idea who that person theyre dealing with is and what theyre like. The first officer and Auggie are clearly friends and he knew Auggie well enough to be able to take the extra leeway and not fear for his safety. I dont agree with how people are treated by officers in everyday situations a lot of the time, but in some circumstances, knowing the shit officers see on an average day, I can understand how the fear can cause the attitude.

For those interested in the second officer in video, here is a bit about her husband in the kilt. Lt. Patrick Caton in 2002: Caton admitted to investigators that he called a pedestrian a “stupid n****r” while in his patrol car. According to the Cincinnati Enquirer, Caton faced several accusations before this, including one in 1999 in which a woman claimed he directed the N-word at her 15-year-old son. (Separately, Caton was fired over an assault charge connected to the November 2000 death of Roger Owensby while in police custody. An independent arbitrator reinstated Caton and awarded him $200,000 in back pay.) According to Fox 19, Caton is married to Amanda Caton, a CPD captain who is currently in charge of the Internal Investigations Section that investigates officer misconduct.

Saying that you can't let someone go because it's recorded doesn't mean you would let them go if it weren't recorded. I'm not a cop, but if I were, tbh I'd probably say the same thing, not because I'd let them go if it weren't recorded, but because I don't want to escalate the situation (especially since they're armed). Maybe you're right maybe he would have, but I don't think you can assume that based on what was said. I mean haven't you ever had to deal with someone who's argumentative or volatile and lied to them a little to try and direct their feelings away from you?

I give them a bit more of a pass for being much nicer during the stop of a fellow officer. When other cops see, and they see you not being nice, or even enjoying arresting officers, your own department will turn on you.
