it needs to be on the books that an uninterrupted log must be present or the officer must be fined for failing to maintain an uninterrupted stream of video and audio. at least one or two states could easily put this into motion but... given that we can have full video/audio and the officer can still just outright perform lies to twist the context of the bodycam footage... we need there to be uninterrupted streams, even if the punishment is just nickel and diming these assholes with fines for not doing it. @@lamwen03

Any cop that "resigns" during the course of (or due to) an internal investigation or dispute of wrong doing should also lose their benefits and anything they normally would keep bc they resigned. Most just go to different departments/county over and get rehired I've heard. They need to make them have records that follow them or some type of law enforcement background checks country wide. @mherrmann81687

@@NeonZebraSpots I would consider the ability to be rehired by a PD a benefit... like when I quit my retail job for refusing to drug test (back in college), I was no longer hireable at any location by that company... I agree, that should be on their record as if it was a crime "resigned during an internal investigation - not hireable by law enforcement". Sure you ran from the thing you did, but you are still going to restart from nothing (at least there would be some consequences).

@@mherrmann81687 I just feel like as far as transparency and accountability, it should be there and visible to future employers when hiring for any of those forms of Public Service.. for Law Enforcement. Also that's another thing when speaking of transparency and accountability, they should not have the ability to mute or turn off their body cam's either because that sh*t is shady as hell and no matter how you look at it, that looks bad.. but those are just my thoughts on the matter..
@mherrmann81687

@@NeonZebraSpots agreed. Why is there even a mute button in the first place? I understand the off button bc of battery life and not needing to record bathroom breaks (privacy) or lunches... but yea, turning it off or muting it during their on-going "investigation" should be at minimum a write up as well; as you said it's super shady, and modifies their records and report.

@@Carrybooo I completeley agree with you. The cop is a POS and it was evident from the start. What the student did was awfully stupid. He got into a shouting match with an armed police officer and it could have escalated easily regardless of whether he was right or wrong. He risked his life to prove a point and to exercise his legal rights and this accomplished nothing at the end. Was him risking his life worth 100-200k? The officer resigned but he is back now still working for the force. So this guy complicated things to satisfy his ego and pride to the point of risking his life. He is obviously risking his life because he didnt have a single clue what the officer might do because he didnt know him. This is extremeley stupid, doesnt raise no avareness. So many young black people died like this and America remains unchanged. Their lives were for nothing- I dont care how much George Floyd statues they build Racists in America wont change and Americans wont do anything about it. True in any career. In the military, one can’t separate or retire to avoid sanctions. And if they have separated, retired, etc. then they can be recalled to active duty to face sanctions. A college coach shouldn’t be able to escape to the NFL to avoid sanctions for wrong doing while coaching college. A CEO shouldn’t be able to quit to avoid facing trouble for sinking a company. Same for judges, teachers, or absolutely anyone else and this language should specifically be built into employment contracts.

What? You must not have had many stops in Germany then. Because they can do MUCH more in Germany. They can make you piss by the side of the road. If you say you don’t want to, they’ll take you to the station, get a warrant and take your blood. Now even if it showed that you did nothing. Too bad so sad. I’ve been treated like shit by police officers in Germany. They’ll just stop you and TELL you you’ve run a red light. Now did you? Well since there’s always 2 of them it doesn’t matter what you say. Even if you have a dashcam there’s no guarantee that it will be allowed in court. Hell they can stop you whenever they want on the street. They don’t need a reason to stop you at all. They don’t like you’re face, they’ll stop you. Don’t like your car, they’ll stop you. God forbid you don’t use „Sie“ that’ll be „Beamtenbeleidigung“ even if they’ve „duzed“ you before that the whole time. Usually regular cops across the planet are usually assholes because that kind of job attracts assholes. They don’t solve murders or go after pedophiles. Those are all special units. The everyday best cop is usually someone who likes action or power. Doesn’t have a college education and let’s be honest has an ego problem. Never met any beat cop that was nice. A similar thing happened to my mom, she got stopped and cited a ticket for get this, turning too soon at a traffic light. Apparently there is a law that says you have to wait five seconds, even if you are totally clear to turn left. My mom was crying and stressed because first she has never gotten a ticket and second the officer was incredibly rude to her. The ticket was going to be about $500 because he cited her as making an illegal left turn. I told my mom to dispute the ticket in court, and she was hesitant but ultimately decided to because she did absolutely nothing wrong. We went to the courthouse and told the clerk we wanted to dispute it and she said that the ticket wasn't in the system yet. So we waited about 4 days and went back and were told that the officer still hadn't put in the system. We waited another 6 days and were told the same thing. At this point, it was getting worrisome because the ticket said if you didn't pay or set a day to dispute it then a warrant would be made for your arrest. So two days before we called the courthouse and the clerk told us that it still wasn't in the system and we explained that my mom only had two days. The clerk, who was amazing, said she was going to call the police department and ask because the ticket should be in the system by now. About an hour later we got a call from the clerk and she said she spoke with the police department supervisor and the supervisor went and spoke with the police officer who issued the ticket, and said that my mother MISUNDERSTOOD that he wasn't issuing a ticket but a WARNING. What the hell?! Clearly, it was a ticket because it had the word ticket on it, a number for the ticket, and it said in big black bold letters that failure to set a court date or fine would result in an arrest. Also, the clerk saw the ticket multiple times and surprise also concluded it was a ticket. The clerk was equally confused with what the officer said but was super kind and gave us her name and employee number if any problems were to arise. The police officer was clearly in the wrong, knew about it, and made everything up.

The key point would appear to be when Smyley ignored the invitation to enter the building to confirm Zayd's residence there. This would surely have resolved the situation and a clear indication that Smyley wanted to exacerbate the confrontation further.
@peedee-zo1yq
@peedee-zo1yq Жыл бұрын
This had all the hallmarks of a 'racist wind-up' and it probably suited Smyley's purpose when Zayd started to lose his cool. Ideally, Zayd should have kept calm and repeated - as often as necessary - the invitation to go inside the building to confirm his residence there. This done, Smyley could hardly claim Zayd's litter collecting outside his own residence as suspicious behaviour. If possible, it might have been preferable for Zayd to record these proceedings for himself. If Smyley continued after this to harrass then Zayd next action would be to insist on a Supervisor to assess the situation.
@toniam910
@toniam910 Жыл бұрын
@@peedee-zo1yqBut Zayd shouldn’t have to do all that. Sure, it would be easier, but it’s not his job to make things easier, it’s the officer’s. The officer literally would not even have to have any kind of interaction with Zayd if he had just walked into the building and asked “Hey, is that guy supposed to be out there?” and left once he got his answer.
@peedee-zo1yq
@peedee-zo1yq Жыл бұрын
Yes, exactly. Probably had nothing to deal with all day, so was looking for something to relieve his boredom and unnecessarily assert his authority over a member of the public. Zayd clearly was not going to claim he lived in the building if he didn't - that would have made life harder for him. KZbin maybe gives a bit of a false impression of the overall state of things, but yet another example of the ego-maniacs policing the US streets these days.

Yes, but it must be difficult for blacks when they sense the cop is coming the racist ticket. As I said, if Zayd had calmly sat down and persisted with the invite to go inside and verify his residence and Smyley had persisted to dodge this, the cam evidence would have been so damning. There is a vid here of a black jogging in a residential getting detained because there is a black felon trying to escape the area. This guy kept incredibly cool with no sign of temperament. Guess he accepted the cops were not being racist, just holding him under suspicion until the matter was resolved.

Unfortunately for racist people, they are about to get spiced up by homosexuals. I'm actively encouraging desperate homosexuals to pose as sexy single women and lower in these scumbags. Most of these racist punks are that stupid. They would fall for the bait and then go as far as having sex with the single sexy lady. Then only then will they find out it was a transgender or a homosexual dude that they are having sex with. Not saying it's worked but I have definitely created hundreds of dating profiles for racist scumbags on many homosexual dating websites in the hopes that stuff like this will start happening. And technically this is protected by the first amendment and there's nothing that racist people can do to stop themselves from being set up. I'm also encouraging scammers in India to Target these monsters instead of elderly people. Besides most racist people are much wealthier thanthe average senior citizen.

The saddest thing is that we live in aa world where most people in America would have said "Well if Zayden had just complied..." My question is what are the boundaries for the police. What laws govern them consistently? I am so glad Zayden stood up for himself in that first video, however I hate the idea that he could have been killed if the officer so chose. We have seen time and again how the police change the story. I AM NOT inherently against law enforcement. I appreciate good officers. But what is frightening is that good officers AND bad ones have the same amount of power and protection. They even call themselves brothers or whatever. The allegiance they have to each other is dangerous because it overrides the morality of even the good officers.
