4:57, Rocky did tell Adonis straight up “he broke things in me that ain't never been fixed” when talking about Ivan (who even referenced his iconic “I must break you” line when referring to the son of the man he killed) and Adonis gets the exact same treatment with Victor to the point he spends the majority of this movie in rehab. 3:59, 7:58, But still, him getting the Killmonger treatment is crazy, 8:21, and this is indeed very true. I’d only recently got into the Creed movies (and a few of the Rocky movies) and it was the most fun I had watching a boxing movie (and a sports move in general) that I can remember. Each of the fights have a weight to them because of how they focused on each fighter’s psychologically as much as their physicality and how they compared to their opponent (for example, Adonis countering Ricky Conlan and Viktor Drago’s size and strength with speed and sheer endurance), and the characters all felt relatively realistic and understandable, even the mythical drama between Adonis and Victor carrying on their father’s fight.
