Kung Fu Panda is a shockingly brilliant series. With a pretty decent TV series on the side. If you say ugh, Kung Fu Panda? There’s nothing here for adults. I’d 100% believe you. But like Avatar, it is INCREDIBLY deceptive on who the target audience is more there for. It has the mask of a kids shows, but the depth is a DEEP well. And I have MASSIVE praise for the franchise. If Puss and Boots 2 wasn’t JUST shown to be an absolute masterpiece out of NOWHERE, I’d be VERY cautious about Kung Fu Panda 4. It’s like Toy Story. Can you keep going? Sure. SHOULD you? Be VERY cautious about that. Toy Story was REALLY pushing it with the 4th that came out a few years ago. But luckily it worked pretty well. And they are making a 5th. But with each movie people are getting more worried of it being executed well. Here’s the best way to look at the Kung Fu Panda series. 1- Physical Test 2- Mental/Emotional Test 3- Spiritual Test And they work PRETTY well. I do actually give a high recommendation for it.

HTTYD and Kung Fu Panda both ended movie trilogies on an okay third movie with decent to very good tv series. And then after the movies end they start making really shit tv series with new characters that feel like ocs and sometimes old broken models. (Seriously, Nine Realms they reused fanghook model that had no horns, probably an animation error)

Birth by Sleep was actually my first Kingdom Hearts game and I didn’t know it was a prequel at the time. The ending left me a crippling sobbing mess and the three protagonists in that game go through so much trauma that gets worse the more you learn in other games. Seriously the teenage protagonist asks the adult protagonists to *kill him if the worst were to happen!*

Shark Tale An animated film also starring Jack Black, and is about Will Smith having to fight off a group of sharks. If you think that sounds awesome, prepare to be surprised.

Still don't get what he meant when calling Kung Fu Panda 3 the Rocky 3 the way he did as Rocky 3 is wildly considered to be the best of the Rocky sequels. So, if anything Kung Fu Panda 2 should be the Rocky 3 of the franchise. Also, as I said in a reply to your comment to my comment requesting this video, Kung Fu Panda 4 is slated to come out early next year. In Fact, Dreamworks always intended there to be more movies after three. Why it took so long is anyone’s guess. Personally I think it was the three's release that set the fourth back. Three was supposed to come out holiday of 2015 but was pushed back to January of all dates as to not compete with Star Wars and this was a huge mistake. To go on a quick tangent, for moviegoers January is seen as the month studios dump films that were ready to release the previous year but held back because said studios had zero confidence they’d compete well with other films out around the time (that’s why a bunch of horror movies seem to drop around that month). And trust me, I distinctly remember both when three was coming and afterwards how people judged the movie's quality based on it January release date. Thus the film didn’t make as much movie as the other two and, considering Dreamworks were also going through a merger with Universal around the same year, their new bosses probably thought best to shelf the franchise until further notice. Now this is all speculation on my part. There are probably other reasons for the delay such as: other projects already down the pipeline, the Universal merger pushing everything back, troubles with coming up with the script, maybe a combination of these things. Either way, the fourth is coming out now, and hopefully it’s as good as the past three films.

When Kung Fu Panda 2 was first announced, there were talks of there being SIX movies planned for the franchise. So long as the script is good, the jokes land, and the central themes are firmly supported, I have faith the movies will be great.

- When you think about it Po is basically a Shonen anime protagonist. He starts as an underdog with a dream of becoming the (blank). Has a tragic backstory involving at least 1 dead parent. Ends up one of the strongest characters in the series - NC wasn't mentioned in Spongebob but in the spin off Patrick Star show (yea there's spin offs now). Anyway one of the characters dresses very similar to his get up and just criticizes the show very melodramatically.

I'm guessing the reason the fourth one has a much larger gap between the earlier movies is because the first three movies are supposed to be the first of two trilogies. The first trilogy is the apprentice trilogy, while Kung Fu Panda 4 will start the teacher trilogy, chronicling Po taking Shifu's place as teacher.

So... Imma be real. I've avoided everything Kung Fu Panda (minus the "Mmmm Monke" meme) like the plague for years. I even skipped this reaction for a week because of how much of a preconceived notion I had about the films. You know me, I'm big into mythology and philosophy. So to find out from this reaction what I've been missing since 2008 is honestly shocking because I assumed like most that this was a garbage film from what little I saw. After tonight's stream, I'm going to have to sit down and watch these movies.

Tai Lung is a 10/10 villain there's a reason he's in every Biff Weed thumbnail. His design and voice are top notch and not to mention the fact he's the 2nd scariest Dreamworks villain next to death with his fight scenes showing how strong & skilled he is in combat. He also has a motive that doesn't justify his actions but still makes you understand him. One of my favorite scenes is when Tai Lung is asking Shifu how proud he is with Shifu saying how sorry he was to put his expectations so high and can see that this touches Tai Lung for a second but then Tai Lung realizes he's gone to far a simple apology and goes back to evil. Also I don't get what Nostalgia Critic was saying, the movie didn't even try to make Tai Lung funny until the climax and that was to show how you shouldn't underestimate the style of Po.

In my potentially controversial opinion, I think the first movie is rather average, it's a good starting point to the trilogy The second is my absolute favorite in the trilogy, I love shen as a villain and the backstory elements The third had an amazing story but I found kai to be ......dull...id expunge further but that would spoil the entirety of the movie

When heros learned about this new threat, they read Oogway's Diary to learn that, Oogway once defeated Kai by learnig Chi control from Pandas, long ago. Then Po's Father tell Po that Pandas in his village still know how to use Chi, but Po must go with him if he wants to learn it. But truth was Pandas long ago forgot how to use Chi, And Po's Dad lied about it because he was recently with his long lost son, and now some Undead Yak wants to get him. So he took Po, to Secret Panda Village to protect him, without him knowing the Truth. In short Po's Dad did the wrong thing for right reasons.

The Critic did do the original trilogy but lied about Shredder's defeat and straight up skipped the 3rd film, basically saying go watch AVGN's review of the 3rd movie instead.
