I was a baby who started talking very early. I knew my ABCs and my numbers(I think it was like 1-20?) before I was a year old. Like this baby I was speaking in full sentences before I was a year old. Before you ask, I know this for a fact because growing up there were home videos (sadly all lost in a move when I was about ten) that had me at a year old speak with my Mom. And all of my family would tell me growing up all about what I could do.

I agree. Another drawback is reading too fast. An example being the Warriors series. When I was a kid and just started it, it was still ongoing, only having about 8 or 10 books and a handful of special editions and comics. I blew through all of it in less than 2 months, and had to wait for several more for the next book. Eventually I started googling the books I wanted to read to see if it was a completed series, just so I wouldn't have to suffer the wait. The only exception I've made since grade school is Wings of Fire. Advanced reading comprehension is great for when you need to take notes or skim instructions, but terrible when you actually want to enjoy something.

I was quite smart as a child and i never asked for a dictionary. My point is, electronics are good and can be a tool only if they are used in moderation which i agree parents now are not doing. Relatable! I also tested at a high reading level during elementary, I wanna say high school reading level by 2nd/3rd grade. I absolutely devoured books as a kid. The gifted program at my school was okay. It didn't challenge me as much as having to work with the other kids did (also very spoiled/annoying kids). Now in high school, my lit teacher works with everyone individually to make sure the class is challenging them, which is very appreciated!

Like. Yeah some of the details on this raise an eyebrow or two but, other then that, this just sounds like someone telling me my childhood back to me, without the inclusion of the severe ADHD or writing issues and a different first word (mine was cat lol.) Hope this kid, if she did exist as presented, had luck with the rest of the profound neurodiversity, cause this is the kind of thing that comes with autism so noticeable they test you three times even though you haven't started showing key diagnostic symptoms yet, severe learning disabilities that make it seem like god thinks it's funny (Hello profound giftedness in Language, meet Dysgraphia so bad you have 4/5 presentations and can't spell above a first grade level until you're 15, a speech impediment/stutter and an eye condition that will not be diagnosed until you're 22 that is known to cause eyestrain issues and tiredness with near work, like reading and writing) and a lifetime of feeling like people are simultaneously offering you to much and to little help. I felt very separated from my classmates, so it took a while for social skills to develope. - Idk about the teachers, either. I dont understand it, but some teachers almost seem threatened by smart kids.
