Well, RM is currency for Malaysia, the Ringgit. 1RM=0.25 USD (as of writing.) So who knows, but I would guess the living situation wasn't ideal or something. Malaysia isn't exactly a poor country, but this kid was squirreling away ~$2.50 a week for something special... assuming he was low income. Maybe it was an agricultural/rural family and there was a large number of ppl around all day at home.

I know that the OP is from Malaysia, and RM10 could be used within a month for kids in Malaysia. If you were to change RM1 to USD, you would have to divide it by four, so it's basically 0.25 cents in USD. I'm a Malaysian and a lot of kids I know I bring less than RM3 to school, including me. Elton's mother, or even his father could've had low-paying jobs.

I was a bus monitor in fifth grade. Note that I always hung out with basically the same group of friends on the bus. One morning one of those friends told us (specifically me, bc I'm the damn bus monitor) that she was being raped by her uncle. Is there a reddit thread for this? My Brother was a member of a group called, "Doctors Without Borders". He was a male nurse with them at the time. When he was at a country that I can't name. I told him that he always has a bedroom here. The last time he was here he hooked up with a woman. I have to say she was a cute person. We all thought she was a perfect fit with our friend group. Yeah to that somebody that made fun of my belief and say its fake, so I made my belief make fun of her, she experienced the hell of reality, until she begged that she believed me already and will not make fun of me or anyone else’s different beliefs again. She apologized in a public place, where her real inner bully shined in front of their eyes, so she lost a lot of loyal followers at the same time. From that day on, she was no longer proudish or mean, PLUS always started to make her researches from that day on.
