No one's forcing him on anyone. Jamar just has a hard-on to hate Em because in his eyes, Eminem is a white guy who is exceptionally skilled at what he considers a black thing. To him, it's not about merit. it's about prejudice, which is why Jamar even says Eminem is better than him, but because Jamar is black and appeals traditionally to what he thinks is the core audience (i.e. Black people in the ghetto) it makes his opinion higher by nature (even though no one in the hood listens to Lord Jamar or Brand Nubian eithier).

I'm enjoying here Lord Jamar speak. In my day wasn't nobody calling the radio station asking for Eminem. As a white rapper he was a crossover artist and able to yap into white culture as he was white. His success is largely because of crossover. When Michael Jackson was just black looking he didn't crossover, but when he did thriller and changed his looks, all of a sudden, he became a crossover artist.

DMX released two albums in 98 that went diamond, Eminem’s first successful project was released in 99, so hip hop was already mainstream. Biggie and PAC took hip hop mainstream. Jay z and Nas also played a big role in that. What was Eminem’s contribution to hip hop that wasn’t already there?

Actually his new lp The Death of Slim Shady is dope asf since he switches up his style a lot. From back in the days I can’t remember hearing any Eminem songs playing from peoples cars or outside other than the few songs I mentioned. And as of this era you never hear Eminem playing. I was at cookouts with all ages and all types of music playing and not one Eminem song was played or requested or mentioned and 50 cent was in rotation and no one thought to play a Eminem track.
