Ironic how Lord Jamar says no black people heard the Eminem verse when I (a black person) don't have the slightest clue as to who Lord Jamar is
@mbelegittens86555 жыл бұрын
soL un - what you’re saying further validates the point Lord Jamar is trying to make. You don’t know who he is because the culture has been hijacked and exploited by those who don’t practice, pay homage to or respect its core values and where it comes from. No disrespect to Eminem but most of what he raps about has absolutely nothing to do with the CULTURE of hip-hop, and that’s what allowed him to sell so many records. Calling Eminem the GOAT is like saying a ballboy is the GOAT of baseball because he’s been to more games than any baseball player.

Conway said the same thing that a lot of Detroit rappers say - people in Detroit don't walk around listening to Eminem. People recognize he is a crazy rapper, but he isn't listened to in the hood like that.
@yrudonking3 жыл бұрын
Yea I mean I think Em is top 5 but I dont think he really has Club/bumpable music for me. I like most of his older stuff and songs where hes telling a story. Its just a different vibe. Eminem to me is like watching one of the best movies ever but it might not be your most watched movie because maybe you also like simpler movies that take less focus to enjoy.
@richardroberts957 Жыл бұрын
OK but if you think little you stay little. You have your tune in a club. Whoop di woo. Rockers have theirs in rock clubs. Ravers have theirs in dance clubs. Am I missing something that eminem is meant to have a club hit. Or play in some gangbangers car. That's thinking small time. That's stagnation. As a lyricist I wouldn't want my tune in a club as such. As its meant to be examined and appreciated not to shoot people to. Or at least that's how i feel. Imagine success being measured for how many clubs play your shit against how much shit you've sold to all demographics. Question time. Is B Real of cypress hill a guest in hip hop? Seen as the culture is black and he's Latin American.

@Ajmal Ali Em didn't record Fall because of Lord Jamar. Lord Jamar was one line, that song was coming out with or without that line anyway. Besides are you really trying to say LJ is a better rapper than EM? Because that is ridiculous. LJ hasn't put in half the time EM has perfecting his craft. EM lives, eats, and breathes rapping. The man is almost 50 holding his own with the top rappers of today. EM is probably working on his craft right now while LJ thinks about what to complain about next.

As a white dude who likes hip hop, and understands I'm never gonna know what exactly it's like "being black". Why do we care what lord jamar thinks. He's feeding into the notion that black and white cultures should be separate things. Eminem is a skilled lyricist because he obsessivley writes raps ALL, THE, TIME. The man has boxes of notebooks with songs and rhymes in them. Whenever he thinks if shit he writes it down. He practiced, and it ended up working. That being said, the 2 guys at the top rn are kendrick and j cole. Drake is like a cross cultural icon, but as far as hardest and best rappers? Cole and kdot. Hip hop and the music before it has done more to heal racial divides than pretty much anything else. Now, we are still gonna say dumb white people shit if we arent racially familiar with black people. Because at the end of the day as much as we talk about "black people and white people" we are all human beings. We piss yellow, shit brown, and bleed red.
