@neilbadger4262
@neilbadger4262 3 жыл бұрын
@@Infiltator2 Every time the FIA release their rule book for the upcoming season, engineers from every team will try and figure out how to push and even bend those rules to their advantage. It tends to be that when a team is able to introduce a new technology not covered by those rules, one of three reactions would occur. Either the new technology is admired, it is ignored, or people complain that it must be breaking the rules and thus a punishment should be handed down. I think in engineering, you can either be proactive or reactive. Proactive is to take the initiative and try and make your product better than everyone else's. Reactive is to simply wait until someone does a better job than you then complain about how life is not fair. The reality is that Mercedes has been doing a far better job in recent years and the only chance Red Bull has had has been to complain about everything. Do not get me wrong though. Max Verstappen was doing a brilliant job in Baku and I felt sad for the guy when his tire failed on the main straight so close to the end. With how dominant Hamilton has been in recent years, it takes someone truly special to be able to compete against Lewis on the track, however, that is where the racing should take place.... on the track, not the boardroom.
@GamerFlair
@GamerFlair 3 жыл бұрын
@@myk1137 Indeed. F1 is all about finding the grey area's. Honestly, this tends to be the difference between most the other teams and Red Bull in my eyes. Other teams look to innovate, find things that aren't in the regulations and make it happen. Red Bull seem to prefer finding things that are in the rules, strictly prohibited, and working out how they can pass the test for it anyways. When another teams finds something geninuely inventive, or they just do something totally legal better then anyone else, Red Bull are like "THATS NOT FAIR BAN IT!"

just find i "funny" that DAS was used only by mercedes and was "illegal from next year" because you can't change rules on the run....while wings that flex (everyones does to some degree) BUT are IN ACCORDANCE with the loads test agreed by EVERYONE in the beginning of the year, since mercedes dosn't like it anymore, so we have to change the roles in the middle of the year..forcing some to redesign wings in middle of the year despire budget cup....it's getting harder and harder to love this sport....

well, DAS was an incredible innovation that only they engineered and got banned because no other team would be able to do it during the season. Meanwhile Flexi wing is something that is clearly illegal even if Mercedes are doing it

@@JotaSE30 ask Mercedes front wing about moving aerodynamic bodywork and regulation!. Truth is, F1 has always been about finding the grey area in the regulation (again none complined about DAS during 2020, they just corrected regulation for 2021). The aim is the pass the test (load test in this case). How the wings behave after that thershold is not specified in the regulation and thus allowed, everyone knows it and everyone does it (Mercedes included, just not as much). Problem is that the test to pass at the beginng of the year, accordig to which everyone design their car, and tonwhich everyone agreed to was one thing, and now, under pressore from one single team (should i Say 4?), is a different one. Its like if we are competing at running 100m, I train for 100m and i'm great at 100m but I gas off at 110m. You suck att at 100m but you can hold the same pace for 400m. Would't be a problem for me because race is 100m so I would win.. but suddenly you get to complain an change the rules so we run 400m instead. It's unfair because you get to change the scope of the test for which I optimised my training (designe our case) for.
