I remember as a 10 or 11 year old kid always doing 1917 skirmish mode and I'd always only enable riflemen, assault, and officers and no support for either side. 5 trenches. I'd sit and watch them take potshots at each other from opposing trenches, replacing soldiers only when the whole unit was killed. One officer and two riflemen squads with a roving assault unit for when I wanted to spice things up. I always used to win on morale after just sitting watching and imagining what was happening in greater detail, making up orders the officers would give to the silver star squad leaders and whatnot. I haven't played in over a decade. Same for 1944, on the map hedgerows or large town I'd enable only machine gunners, officers, and infantry and just watch basically
@rudysmith1445
@rudysmith1445 2 ай бұрын
I really preferred 1917 to 1944, it just felt SO much more immersive. My only issue was how the timers reset for EVERY UNIT when you deployed one, so you’d often only get a few tanks to play with in every match while the enemy mogged you with their own tanks, but that’s just me.

If you didn't know, they made a 3rd Warfare called "Warfare Online" and it is on steam. It is more akin to Warfare 1944 with the 3 lane system but it is in the modern current-day conflict setting with your typical US vs. RU faction. Sadly (or maybe for some of you, fortunately) the servers are closed and the service is no longer continued. This is sort of their own fault though. They really turned up the dial on the free-to-play, pay-to-win model. So much things has changed like troop types and support call-ins are much more dynamic but also locked. Naturally, you can unlock it by cash. They got greedy and make it unbearable to play. It's gotten so bad it's Wargame's levels of greedy such as premium accounts granting you more exp and resources. So naturally people left that game because it wasn't a single player game but a pvp game. It was sad as the game itself was made well and polished real good since it made the leap from 2D to 3D. At least they learned that lesson the hardway and Last Stand Aftermath was none of that.

Yoo I had poured hrs into this game, there was site called arcade pre hacks that basically cheated every flash game you can think of, some were better unhacked but I digress, this game hacked allowed you to bypass the cooldown buttons leading to a very slow computer but an enormous amount of troops charging to a few trench that had maybe one mg team and riflemen, they would call arty or mortars and the mg would mow down dozens of men, I had wave after wave of men downed due to 2 trenches full of Germans and arty, so I called in probably 20 clicks of arty on them, the game slowed further but all that arty messed them up I sent in another wave and it was a victory, the game was very fun, also I had one game where they called gas right before my mass of troops had time to move and it pretty much killed them all, skirmish was everything.

Actually you can still play them! I'm not sure how or what changed, but flash games are playable right now. Idk if i had to download a browser extension or not, but go check out armor games or newgrounds!

@@TheLovelyScrub oh okay, since you show the armorgames site, I thought you also meant for armorgames games in general lol. Good memories playing in that website when I was young

Honestly it would have been awesome to see more entries in the Warfare series There's various settings, so imagine for Yugoslavia war (Warfare : 1991), Arab Israeli war (Warfare : 1967 or 1973), South Africa border war (Warfare : 1988) or also Iran Iraq war because of ww1 style warfare (Warfare : 1984)

@@TheLovelyScrub plus it'd still keep the feel along with adding new content For example more vehicles other than just 1 tank such as scout cars, light tanks, etc. having helicopters and jets armed with machine guns, rockets and bombs Plus maybe we could see Russian Ukraine war included (Warfare : 2022) since much like the Iran Iraq war, trench warfare is used too

I did! i wanted to include in this video, the same way i included Dead Zone in my video on The Last Stand, but i wasn't entirely happy with showcasing it and not having played it, so i decided against using Warfare Online in this video

I remember ea made their own version called trenches. Which was a decent take on it. Too bsd they shut that down. It was a good way to play on mobile
