love watching matches in this mod. it just adds a lot of fresh stuff to the game, not to mention that there's so many new possible matchups including the generation-mirror matchups. I just like seeing some sort of meta evolving around just 3 extra races being introduced

id love to see more casts of evo complete! i think sc1 races seem weak cuzsc2 still has such a home engine advantage.

I never realized it before but SC1 terran units are entirely made up of fans and cogs, at least according to the supply depots.

I think mass firebat could help tremendously against locusts. Everyone thinks firebats are terrible and refuse to build them, but they have a use, owning large numbers of squishy units.

I don't know, hellbats are arguably better than firebats, but they still die in droves to locusts. What you forget is that locust have higher DPS than hydras but are free, so every point of damage is a win for zerg, so the firebats will all fully die each wave. I mean they might kill 50%~ of the wave, but they're still going to die as they have the survivability of shielded marines. If you think that's a good trade, maybe. You'd be protecting tanks and vultures... but i'm not sure. Lets say locusts did less damage, then maybe the firebats would have a chance at winning that trade. They actually have the same amount of HP, but the firebat has like half the dps if they're not stimmed. And their AoE isn't really that huge, but it does help.

The SC2 players just need to have more playtime with the BW races before you can claim one is better than the other. These games never used the BW Queens, Defilers, Battlecruisers, Arbiters, and who knows what else, nor the full capabilities of all the units.

A lot of them are quite endgame. The point of the weakness of SC1 races is the fact that they die to early SC2 aggression. You can't use the full capability of the race if you can't survive to tech up. You're sort of just asking for a gentlemans game where both sides decide to go macro long game. These are competitive matches, but it's not impossible to ask the pro's to chill the early game to see how the races stack up lategame.

It somehow often feels like the SC 1 races of zerg and terran are much worse especially in the earlygame than sc 2, but defilers and sc 1 ghosts can be insanely OP too. SC1 Protoss seems to be crazy at almost any stage of the game though, always funny to see the discrepancy.

That mass SC1 zergling flood is what all BW players dreamed of lol. 1a2a3a4a5a6a7a. But Dark really overestimates SC1 Ultras. If you're going lings all the way to hive, there's no reason to not at least make a few defilers before your ultras.

SC2 economy: mules, larva inject, chrono boost SC1 economy: 5% more effective mineral gain SC2 production: addons, larva inject, chrono boost, warp gates SC1 production: ...normal... SC2 mobility:medivacs, nidus worms, warp prisms, recall, mothership SC1 mobility:transport units that dont do anything else beside transport SC2 evo balance council: ,,Well, SC1 gets 5% more economy, so it is balanced´´

Also sc1 upgrades: slower and require significantly more tech investment.

Sc1 gets a lot of broken shit in return, everything about defiler, plague, faster access lurker, queens, 2 supply tanks with more range, irradiate, lockdown, storm that deals 50% more damage, reaver, dragoons... The lategame is looking pretty good for the BW races, they just get run over before that. So even tho sc2 is stronger here, your representation is just really really misleading.

SC 1 units are absolutely busted though, just look at spidermines (although it's pretty weird that they just die to higher-range units if those are on attack move...)

I think when it comes to Zerg and Terran SC2 units usually wins out > SC1. But Toss SC1 units are really strong I would like to see more SC1 vs SC2 Show-matches where one player plays high level Toss. Feel free to correct me if I´m off, don´t play much BW these days (or even this mod).

It’s SC2 using a mod called “SC: Evo Complete extension”. It adds the SC1 races and units for “Melee” mode

wish folks would just play sc1 v sc1 in the mod. I find those the most interesting.

SC 1 players are used to tons of busywork and very weird pathing issues. A lot of balance in SC 1 comes from exactly that and the fact you cannot control more than 12 units at a time. I don't think SC 1 balance works at all in sc 2, zerg should just blow the other races out of the sky with mass zerglings. Also SC 1 players are very proud of all the extra clicks they need to do and feel like that makes them more skillful, so losing that would be losing part of their pride i think.
