I live in Vacaville in northern Cali and my garden got crispy as well. Just trying to take it as a learning experience and yes fall/winter reset here as well

Such a hot year early in both our parts of Northern California, right?! I don’t think the grasshoppers have helped the unusual crispiness. Glad we get an opportunity to reset for the next year.

I can so relate! It is so sad, but like you said, it truly is out of control :( I completely let my garden go being pregnant and all. I did get one tomato haha!

You are very busy growing someone very important… gardens can wait. Next year, lots of tomatoes hopefully with your little one. ❤️

We have our chickens free range and when we were in Guatemala and had someone watch them, they didn't know to get them out of the yard if they flew over the fence (we do have cross-fencing, but chickens can fly over fences). We are up in Shasta County. It is too expensive to water our whole property, so we just have drip to specific areas. Would love to water the whole back field and have a cow or sheep, but our water district is terrible and new permanent water restrictions are coming up in California in January, unfortunately. The record breaking heat hasn't helped.
