Okay Morgan I have never seen you angry but you paused at 10:01 strikes fear in my heart. Great video. I remember taking like 4 different girls to see this movie lol they ate it up and it inspired me to get some dance moves. Lol

Ha! Yeah, I don't get angry all that often, but when I do...

Gen Z here. My mother absolutely loved this movie. I love her.

I've always been fascinated by the animosity reported between Swayze and Grey and have secretly wondered if that animosity stemmed from real life mutual attraction that neither of them wanted to feel. Great analysis. You are an inspiration!

Glad you mentioned Grey and Swayze hating one another -- that was some pretty remarkable news to me watching other documentaries on this movie. And how bloody deep was this decade in material that you could tackle it in the home stretch and not have it feel like an oversight?!

When I watched this as a little kid, I did not realize it was supposed to be taking place in 1963. Mainly because of Baby's very 1980's hair and the nonperiod songs.

The whole look of the film is really so much more 1980s instead of 1960s.

Great video, Morgan!! I love DD. The film AND the soundtrack have stood the test of time like few other pieces from this era. BTW, fun fact, Lonny Price was also in Muppets Take Manhatten, and was adorable.

Thank you, Terri! I haven't seen Muppets Take Manhattan in years and years!

Nobody would believe that these two hated each other. In that film, they burn everything around them.

Absolutely scorching chemistry, yeah.

Great video, Morgan. When I was a kid, I thought it was just a dancing flick. I can’t wait till next week when you cover The Hunger. 😊

Swayze and Gray hating one another but enhancing the movie reminds me of An Officer And A Gentleman; where Richard Geere and Debra Winger's hatred for one another arguably made the film that much better

All these Stereotypes being Shattered in Smooth Dance Moves, Dirty Dancing 2: Electric Boogaloo would have Been Cult Magic, but they played safe

Penny and Robbie would never have hooked up. That part of the movie makes absolutely no sense.
