Well there is a way The keeper should replace other positions as suitable as possible ex. Gk replace cb and vice versa , GK plays to AM , AM tries to attack or hold on to the ball and GK could burst forward or play 1-2 and finish the job . Its like substitutions but without player on outside the field .

I remember I used to play keeper when I younger and I was always getting scolded for intercepting the ball from the striker. It ended up helping getting out of the GK post once I returned to the beautiful game after not playing for a few years. But being last man, and more so goalkeeper, you get quite a bit of time to study and better anticipation.

Then a segment of what attributes a would-be transitioner would need for today’s striker role. And, who Tifo identifies as potential defenders that could easily become goal merchants. Challenging lil task but a video I’d love to see ✌️

I’m classing if they transitioned to a Striker during a game where they started as a Central Defender. Also, from speaking to grey haired men apparently Koeman played as emergency strikers or upfront during injury crisis moments. Finally; I’m also counting youth/international level upfront.

@@joebarnett1222 If you want emergency, then it's not exclusive to them. You'll see at least 1 centre half upfront at the tail end of every match from the losing team. But sending your best header upfront for the last 5 minutes of the game isn't a transition to striker, it's desperation. Playing striker when it's "put it in the mixer" time isn't the same as playing striker for the whole match. Pressing, build-up, off the ball movement, everything's different.
