I'm still convinced Rick's videos are the reason I cannot find the Costco Callaway tour edge set. They sold out within a week when that video first dropped. Now the price has gone up from $500 to $900. You're too popular in my area, Rick!

Ask Mark Crossfield! He got burned by Taylormade because they were butt hurt about one of his reviews. They even axed him from an R series driver release because of his honesty. I personally like impartial and brutally honest reviews. I love people letting me know that the quality is good or that they are making outrageous marketing claims.

I liked how he claimed he was a better golfer than Rick and could give him some tips for more distance. That guy really believes his own hype. He goes on and on about drivers having zero technology. Like golf companies don't spend millions of dollars and years developing a new driver. Nope, they have no idea what they're doing and are trying to scam golfers. Jack isn't even a golf professional, just a long drive champion. He hits the ball really far with his driver but if he were truly a great golfer, he would have been on tour. A one trick pony.

Just watched the skins challenge. Well done Rick. Brilliant. It was interesting to see that the way Brits seems to raise someone up only to start begrudging them (see Nick Faldo, Steve Davis) is also present in Americans albeit towards non-Americans. Re product reviews, wouldn’t it be a good idea for R&D departments of big company’s to start making use of KZbin Golf channels in the development process prior to finalising a product.

I had a friend of mine who HATED Ping irons. He was a blade golfer and only played Mizuno's or Hogan Irons. I had Ping Eye 2's that he thought were rakes and shovels. lol I grew up with blades, but once I got used to Eye 2's, I was hooked to casted cavity backed irons. It comes down to opinion. Of course Rick tests everything which means he's in a good position to say what clubs are awesome and which clubs should be used as garden tools. Bottom line - each golfer needs to try things out for himself. Because YOU are the one who is going to play with them.

The middle of the face is maxxed out and has been for years. They figured out how to max out heel and toe strikes years ago. The figured out how to sort out spin on high and low strikes years ago. They got them low spin for people of Ricks calibre in regard to club head speed mph which doesn't really help Joe Average and his 95mph. The only trend that is worrying me is that driver shafts are getting longer. The last thing Joe Average needs is more shaft as he is struggling to square the face of 45 inches. The only game changer they can make from here is worse for Joe Average.
@JohnWilliams-wl2cf3 жыл бұрын
I think the two big areas you can improve distance is bulking up your strength doing weights and then the adjustments needed to the stands and body shape after you've driven ... both these things Bryson has adopted,,,a faster more powerful club head gained through training creates a bigger arc all round so the body needs to allow the swing to fully go round .

Can’t wait for the day some company complains to me about one my reviews. Haha Funny how companies love when it’s positive and share links but cry when it’s negative. Hopefully most just take not and work on their product instead.

if the brands are surprised by consumer / reviews then they are getting caught up in their own hype. Nothing is perfect for all golfers and that's what keeps them in business. Personally i love it when i hear an honest review - any chance of you reviewing Peter Finch's / Matt Fryer's swing? 👍

Well these brands should know who to send what product to. You can’t send professional golfers to review a beginner set. And vice versa. It’s more or less being smart on who reviews what. But it also works for them. If you poorly review an entry level iron set the more experienced golfer will spend more on a better set.
@nco_gets_it3 жыл бұрын
when a review finds flaws or problems with a product and the manufacturer is surprised by the discovery of the flaw, what does that say about the brand's testing? That's right, it sucks. So what an impartial review is really discovering is the testing the brand puts into its product. Crap design and testing will produce flawed products. Simple as. The brand that is surprised by such revelations is to be avoided.
