Story One night four college students were out partying late night and didn’t study for the test which was scheduled for the next day. In the morning, they thought of a plan. They made themselves look dirty with grease and dirt. Then they went to the teacher and said they had gone out to a wedding last night and on their way back the tire of their car burst and they had to push the car all the way back. So they were in no condition to take the test. The teacher thought for a minute and said they can have the re-test after 3 days. They thanked him and said they will be ready by that time. On the third day, they appeared before the teacher. The teacher said that as this was a Special Condition Test, all four were required to sit in separate classrooms for the test. They all agreed as they had prepared well in the last 3 days. The Test consisted of only 2 questions with the total of 100 Points: 1) Your Name? __ (1 Points) 2) Which tire burst? __ (99 Points) Options - (a) Front Left (b) Front Right (c) Back Left (d) Back Right The end. The hardest trial is the one via your child. Many years ago, my brother in law performed Hajj when his 20 year old daughter was seriously ill. No doubt, he would have made intense dua during the Hajj for her recovery, right? A few months later, she passed away. It’s heart breaking, but he never faltered in his faith. I am reminded of this as I observe my son struggling with his mental health. Ya Allah guide us all during our dark times.

*MEETING MUHAMMAD ﷺ EPISODE NOTES: When He ﷺ lost His Child.* • When Ibraheem was born, the Prophet was around 60 years of age. • As one who always cared for other people, tried his best to alleviate their troubles, providing help wherever help was needed, caring for people in distress or difficulty, the Prophet was extremely happy when Ibraheem was born. • He was a model father. No one loved his children as much as Muhammad (peace be upon him) did. • To have a son after a gap of more than 20 years since his youngest daughter was born gave him a feeling of supreme happiness and consummate joy. • Yet Ibraheem did not complete two years of life. He was only 18 months when he died to give the Prophet heartfelt sorrow. • His death extinguished the great hope that was kindled when he was born. • The Prophet realized that God only chose what was best for him, and he looked at his son’s death in that light. • However, as human beings we are unable to discern God’s wisdom when adversity strikes. We always wonder: Would it not have been better for us if we were spared that adversity? • The Prophet was a human being and he must have felt the bitter pain. • As the child was placed in his grave, the bereaved father stood weeping, nursing his bitter loss and praying to God. He tamed his sorrow with resigned acceptance of God’s will. He said: “Eyes are tearful, minds are submissive and we are sorrowful to see you, Ibraheem, departing, but we only say what pleases our Lord.” Anas ibn Malik reported: We entered the house of Abu Sayf along with the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, who was the husband of Ibrahim’s wet-nurse, upon him be peace. The Prophet took hold of Ibrahim, kissed him, and smelled him. Then, we entered after that as Ibrahim was breathing his last breaths. It made the eyes of the Prophet shed tears. Abdur Rahman ibn Awf said, “Even you, O Messenger of Allah?” The Prophet said, “O Ibn Awf, this is mercy.” Then, the Prophet wept some more and he said, “Verily, the eyes shed tears and the heart is grieved, but we will not say anything except what is pleasing to our Lord. We are saddened by your departure, O Ibrahim.” Source: Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī 1241 Grade: Sahih (authentic) according to Al-Bukhari Even in grief he ﷺ continued to teach us. Narrated Abu Mas`ud: The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "The sun and the moon do not eclipse because of the death of someone from the people but they are two signs amongst the signs of Allah. May Allah give complete shifa to my son, and for all the kids in this world who are unwell, distressed and in pain and grief, poverty and being vulnerable, and who are orphans. May Allah give us all the ability to do what we can in the last 10 days and even after Ramadan to raise money for Orphans and give charity to help people who are unfortunate and needy in these situations and May Allah give strength and Sabr to these Parents who have to go through such trial. The sadest story of Prophet. Although He SAW struggled whole life with loss of Father,Mother, Grand dad and so many family members. This was indeed the greatest lost. Allah knows best why He took the son away as I always felt Umah might have made him Prophet after Nabi SAW Death.
