Im a reformed leaning believer and i love the ecumenical spirit of Remenant Radio. Its all about growing in the grace and knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. I confess that i had to repent of my attitude toward my Pentocostal/Charasmatic brothers and sisters in Christ. I love you all at Remenant Radio!!

You had me at comparing hearing (or even reading through the eyes) scripture as a physical means of receiving revelation from God to the physical bread and wine imparting Christ to us. I, like Josh, am used to a different way of doing things but that makes SOOOO much sense. Mind blown again - thank you!!

Thanks so much for discussing early church thinkers. Something completely missing from modern evangelical churches with their 7/11 songs and cotton candy preaching.

So looking forward to hearing about Irenaeus vs the gnostics! If that's who you guys decide to focus on. It will be great in any case 😊

I have been reading through his collected works, it's a very interesting but at the same time not the easiest thing to read. Worth the effort however.

I just want to say how very much I love your show. You both well your whole crew, are so filled with wisdom. God bless you. I am thankful on the topics that you cover. Recently the young girl who wasStating Barnesville fall November 15 which is today. There have been false prophets all along the way. People need to realize that someone who iprophesied will not be wrong. . I love the book by Justin peters, clouds without water. He has also taught me a lot when people say the Lord told me. The Lord tells us through his Word. That’s the Bible. Again thank you God bless

The question of faith necessary within sacramental reception is why the Reformers criticized the Roman 'ex opere operato', or the idea that sacramental grace is effective objectively and even automatically (apart from saving faith). The sacraments offer objectively, the grace of reconciliation, true. Yet apart from true faith, we do not benefit from the tokens of reconciliation (despite grace being fully displayed and conveyed). But this also goes to the difference between Lutherans and Calvinists on "resistible grace."

I am not an Orthodox Christian. I'm Baptist. Previously attended charismatic church, but got disillusioned with all the goofy stuff.. But I have studied a lot of the Early Church Fathers. The Eastern Orthodox doctrine appears to be more in line with my understanding. The Jesus Prayer has become a big part of my journey into the intimate communion I have longed for. The over used phrase "A PERSONAL RELATIONSHIP WITH JESUS," has not been a reality in the charismatic and protestant stream of the Church. The Jesus Prayer, done from the heart, will produce the ultimate goal which God desires for us. I have not arrived, but I believe I'm on the right path: "THE ESSENCE OF THE CHRISTIAN LIFE is the constant attentiveness and awareness that Christ lives within you. One must establish oneself in the Presence of God throughout their day. This will transform everything in us." This will produce God's ultimate desire for His children: THE TRANSFORMATION OF OUR CHARACTER INTO THE IMAGE OF JESUS CHRIST.

Friends, you mention Origen, and Saint Maximus the Confessor, like you, was critical of Origen vis-a-vis gnostic tendencies which are observed in Origen's writings. So why not mention Saint Max. and the issues of Origen? I would like to see that discussed. St. Max is not just for the Eastern Church, he was very sympathetic when some Christians were critical of the efforts of Roman Catholics were that they added the "Filioque" clause of the Nicene Creed. I would like to see a discussion of St. Max and the Filioque clause, which he tolerated very comfortably. Thanks for looking into that.
