Okay, so... I'm just getting to know the possibilities that mods provide, and I honestly thought that it would be much easier, but I also quickly realized that I was wrong. Your tutorial is very good and simple, even I understood what and how to install, but here's the only thing that I don't fully understand. For example, if you take the "Eyes of the Beholder" mod, it turns out that if I install it, I don't need ALL the additional files, but only that specific one that I need to create my Tav, right? For some reason, at first it seemed to me that all the variations should be displayed during the character creation itself, but I really tried to read the instructions and realized that this is not the case (i mean most likely, because I don't know English very well and can make mistakes in the meaning of some words in the instructions, so yeah...). If this is really the case, then there are no problems, I realized that it is easier for me not to install the mod, because variability is always very important to me and I can't say for sure that I need a specific preset to create a character. But let's get back to the "unique Tav" mod. It turns out that the mod also doesn't give me options in the game itself, and I need to choose in advance what I like and paste them into a folder, after which they will appear on the model in the game? And if I want to remove it or change it, then I will also need to change the file in this folder? Oh, I thought it would be much easier... Anyway, thank you very much, your tutorial is cool, it's just me a little dumb

Just a question i have a folder in my games files and its labeled at generated and the further down i go it just goes Generated> Public>Engine>Assets>Editor and i keep seeing gizmo (i have to check what mod i might have installed) is it safe to have both generated folders in the data folder or do i have to uninstall one of them?

if you have an invisible body, it means the pak file is working but the generated folder is not You can preview the data file on nexus (go to unique tav mod page, to files and directly above or under - can't remember which, there's an option to preview the files), click on that. Now find your own generated folder in your data folder, and compare those two. Are the files and folders set up correctly? If they aren't, download it again, delete your own generated folder in your data folder. Remember to extract into your downloads folder as in the video and not dragging the generated folder from the zip inside the data folder because if you do that, you will end with your PC messing up files and folders. When it's extracted, drag the generated folder into the data folder and try again And you can time stamp it yourself as I go over everything in detail.

Hi! Great tutorial vid! Thanks so much for making it easier to understand! One thing, in your written guide, you say that if you have EotB you need to open that up in vscode instead of unique tav, only there are none of the options or values to edit tattoo color or metalness in EotB. Am I missing something?

@@Scarecrowshindig try the patch. It's either the main file or the patch but I'm pretty sure it's the patch for eyes of beholder. Make sure to reconvert the file (you can do that with lslib, lsx/lsf and batch or you can just delete the one with the extra ending in the end - think it's .lsx.lsf or something and then copy the one with one ending - and add the extra ending, then repak with multitool or lslib)

The tutorial is amazing and it works perfectly. The only issue I have is that my face presets don’t show up. Update: It had worked for a bit but my other mods didnt so i deleted it and know am trying to download it again but no matter what i do it doesn’t work Tav always has an invisible body

Face presets: You have to download the specific files under the heads you have downloaded that says "unique tav" or "unique tav + eyes of beholder" for them to show up. If you are on Patch 6, Trips shaders should be version 1.5 If you are on patch 7, Trips shaders should be the latest version Otherwise it means your pak file is working, but your generated is not. So check if you have all the files for the generated folder (you can preview under files on unique tav data file so you can compare) If you do not have all the folders and files, you redownload the unique tav data and extract into your downloads folder. You extract into your downloads folder because the "generated" folder is one too deep to extract directly into your data folder and you cant just drag the generated from the zip file into the data folder, because the mod is too big and chances are the files/folders are going to be very messed up, causing the same issue

I seem to be having issue getting it to recognize the file in the data folder, as my Tav keeps coming up invisible. I'm not sure why, as I was pretty careful about following along and it is in the data folder. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated

EDIT: I think i figured it out. I somehow missed that you were just supposed to take the "generated" file from the Original Unique tav and drop that into the Data folder, not the entire folder into the data folder. I panicked for a moment because i already had a generated folder so i didn't see where it had gone (It just got absorbed into the generate folder i already had). Loaded again and it seems to be working, not invisible skin and the human appears to be hairless. Will continue following along to get the optional files and reply here if more issue arise.

Okay, had to take a break but came back to download the optional files, and i have a question, just to clarify. When installing these tattoos, given that they all have the same file name does this mean we can only have one at a time? Also if im on multiplayer and we have two different body tattoos installed would that mess up given that the file name still technically matches on both machines?

@@CrazyAnimeLife1 Only one at the time. And no, loose file mods (mods that goes inside your bin and data folder) are localised to you and doesnt affect other people's games. Though it can be one of the reasons why you cant connect to each other, so I recommend taking it slow and adding mods one by one and try to reconnect and play with a small amount of mods.

Hi, tysm for this guide. Am having issue with bodies though. Using uniquetav and the plussizetav mod, most clothing things seem to work, but it changes all the bodies in the game with same skeleton to be plus size. (For example, now shadowheart and jaheira are also plump and i didn't intend that) I thought uniquetav would prevent that from happening? Did i install something incorrectly? I have unique tav before plus size tav in load order.

This mod used to work just fine for me. But today I finally decided to play again (I had been waiting to let mods to be updated), when I tried starting a new game the character was missing everything except her head and genitals. I uninstalled and reinstalled both the Pak and the data, but it remains the same.

hello! thank you for the easy tutorial, it was very helpful. I’m just running into an issue where the modded tattoos/makeup does not show up on modded heads, only the basic heads from the game. I don’t know if i missed a step or there’s something else i need to do to fix that. is there a way to fix this by any chance? thank you :)

Some modded heads are not made/fitted for the modded makeup/tattoo's. That is on the heads creator, not UT. You can report it (gently) on the mod page for the heads, and see if the creator wants to adjust it. If they say no tho, then its a no.

Help please! I have the Trip's Shader installed (I've had it installed for a while and have had no issues), followed all instructions for both the pak file and the data folder. I even downloaded 7zip because I was having issues with the data file not downloading correctly, and then I was able to put the generated folder where its supposed to go. Unique Tav is low on my mod order. I downloaded this mod specifically to use a Satyr race mod, and I'm still getting an invisible body. I tried looking everywhere, but I can't find anything I might have done wrong :(

Thanks so much for this video. It even helped me to make this mod work. :) Just ine problem i had, i tried to copy and paste the name like you did it and....it didn't let me do that. It said, the file name is invalid. So why could you make it work and i couldn't, while using the same method?

Make sure the file extension is on, so you can see the ".dds". If there's two ".dds" in the same name, that could probably ne why. Also make sure you extract the mods in your downloads folder. Zips/rars don't like when we change stuff inside them

hiii so after patch 7, i fully reset everything, and i followed this guide to make sure I have everything installed correctly for Unique Tav, but for most vanilla races, the body is still invisible. I have both the pak and the data file in the correct place, i redownloaded Trips Shaders, and basically updated every single mod... is there something i should do differently? :(

@@lukalauracook when you update, make sure you don't delete in bg3mm because if you do, you likely haven't actually deleted the file - you just deleted it from bg3mm. There's a shortcut in bg3mm (map icon, right beside refresh). Click on that, search for trips shaders. Delete it, then re-download it and place the pak file inside the mods folder. Refresh bg3mm and then save/export order. Otherwise if you still encounter this issue, it means the pak file is working but the generated folder is not. Delete the generated folder in your data folder. Re-download from unique tav, then make sure to extract into your downloads folder and then find the generated folder. I would do this extra step: go on unique tav, under files and then "preview this file" under the data one. Check the one you just downloaded, that all the files in there. If they are, move the generated folder to the data folder and try again. If not, re-download the data one again and do the same thing

my unique tav data does not come in a folder but just the file inside the folder, so there is no generated folder for me to put into the data, I don't know if thats whats keeping my characters body other then the face invisible? because i did everything else minus place a folder in the data folder. im doing the bg3 Evelyn oc tutorial. im just trying to get the skull spider tattoo on her neck

That sounds like you downloaded the pak file. Go to unique tav mod page, and click the one that identifies itself as "data". Theres two: one pak and one data. You need both.

​​@@mazikeen5147 i downloaded the pak file correctly, but my data file appears as a regular file and no folder. i even have the pak file in the mod manager for bg3 and i have it listed as 6 out of 9 mods so its low but not all the way down Edit:I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the data file for the 3rd time and the file type it's saving as is a 7Z_file. I don't know if that's interfering with it? Edit 2: I have figured out how to fix it, if u have 7zip right click, extract and u will get the folders in the video from ur data download . Yayy TwT

@@АртурШелби-у6щ Fyi: It was Trips shaders that needs to be updated. Kart has posted an update on the posts on her mod page, and she says it should work after the new trips old shaders update. So that is why you were experincing issues. It should be fine now, and if you encounter bugs; please report it to the appropiate place as I cannot help with those.

That should not be unique tav. Test with only unique tav is your mods folder and in bg3mm, and in your data folder as well. If you have other mods in your data folder, remove them as well

Did you remember to choose a body tattoo? The default one is none, so you need to choose one either from unique tav or search one up on nexus

Hello! I seem to be struggling with an issue that may be shared by a couple other users, so I apologize if this is a repeat comment. My Data folder when downloaded is not being downloaded as a folder for some reason, I cannot extract anything from it and any attempt to put it in the game data folder, or generated folder has just resulted in body disappearing. I have tried deleting and redownloading the file several times but always get the same result of a non-folder 7Z file, any Idea on why this is or how to workaround?

It works for me - just downloaded it again. And it comes through as a 7z file. Are you sure you are pressing "manual download"? Do you have 7zip installed? If no, install it. If yes, have you tried right clicking, more options and then click "extract archive". Have you checked if your anti virus is tagging it for a false positive? Have you tried another browser? I really cant help you, unless you join the discord server so I can get a screenshot of what you mean and try and troubleshoot it with you, as over youtube, I will not be able to do so.

im running into a problem where when I download the data pak, no folder is generated. As soon as I download it, a file named Unique Tav Data-2754-1-6-1-1710978760 is all I get. I don't have the option to extract or anything. I've tried uninstalling this and redownloading the mod in order to fix it but it keeps happening. Download 7zip (www.7-zip.org/) 7z is a zip file, which needs to be extracted. As I said in an earlier comment, a zip file is an archive/library of sorts, that compresses the files and folders so it wont take as much space (thus making the download faster). The latest windows upgrades (at least for 11) should now support 7z and rar. If they dont, you need to download 7zip which is an open source and free software that can handle rars, 7z, zips and other types of archives

@@mazikeen5147 I did save and export, and did not add new mods. I had figured out a temporary solution to turn everything off through the in game mod manager and back on. (Allthough Everytime I moved unique tav it breaks so I just leave it where it is lol)

Sorry for the inconvenience! I was installing some Unique mods and suddenly the characters had floating heads; they have no bodies, just heads. I’ve been looking for solutions to this problem, but the only one I’ve found is to uninstall the Unique Tav mod. I really want to use the mod. Do you happen to know any solutions? This is because you do not have "animations level" on high but rather on medium or low. It has to be on high. Not related to UT

@@mazikeen5147 It’s a strange situation because the animations level settings and all the configurations are set to "high" or "ultra." Everything was working fine without issues, but after installing some Unique Tav mods (I think they were for faces), the body suddenly disappeared; only the head remained. This happens with all the standard races in the game. I decided to uninstall and reinstall the game, and followed the Unique Tav tutorial to the letter, but the issue with the missing body persists. I have all the required mods and they are up to date (such as Trips' Old Shader Pack), but everything remains the same. I don’t understand why this happened for no apparent reason, as everything was working perfectly before.😭

@@willjim8390 when you encounter this issue, it means the pak file is working but the generated folder is not. Delete the generated folder in your data folder. Re-download from unique tav, then make sure to extract into your downloads folder and then find the generated folder. I would do this extra step: go on unique tav, under files and then "preview this file" under the data one. Check the one you just downloaded, that all the files in there. If they are, move the generated folder to the data folder and try again. If not, re-download the data one again and do the same thing

Yes. Delete the generated file, but you have to replace it again and you have to redo your tattoos/make/other mods you have made compatible with UT. Also, this happens when you have not extracted the unique tav file into your downloads folder. Its too big to do it like that so always extract it into your downloads folder, delete the zip afterwards and open the folder until you find the generated folder and place it in your data folder. You can also just do that and not delete the generated folder, but just replace however you need to do redo the tattos and makeups still

I've downloaded Mari's makeup and the body tattoo from unique tav, but for some reason old coven elf makeup is still showing up even though I can't find the files in the mods or data files. Does anyone know what to do?

Take out the entire generated folder, put it out on the desktop, re-download UT data, put the newly downloaded one in, and re-download the Maris make up. Make sure so to choose the ones that is for UT, and replace as done in the video.

@@Divine_Raven when you do the Maris tattoo, did you download the replacer or the unique tav version? And before you downloaded unique tav, did you have any tattoos replacer? If yes, you need to delete those.

You only need to place the "generated" folder inside the data folder and press "replace" when it asks for it. You shouldn't need to click down on the folders and find the files. The files needs to be placed in a specific folder called "FACE" in the UT structure and need to have a specific name

for some reason my game began to close itself mid game or a few minutes after launching it. I dont know if a mod is causing it I couldnt find the source of the reason. I even deleted and reuploaded the game but it didnt fix. Do you have any suggestions?

That is not UT doing it. This can be for a lot of reasons, and I cant say for sure without taking a look at files, mods, load order, if you use vortex or bg3mm, screenshots of this - basically all the things you cant do through youtube. Guess is: check for debug profile in your playerprofiles folder (windowskey + r then type %localappdata%), delete if you have any custom profiles or debug profiles because BG3 does not support custom/multiple profiles. Only through SE. Check if you have script extender + achievements enabler, as those two conflicts and SE already does that by its own. If its a mod, check what you are doing in the game, which mods you are using, check on nexus, look at posts, comments etc. EDIT: Also want to add that you do NOT clean all the files via an uninstall unless you manually delete the appdata Larian Studios folder located in your appdata (windowskey + r, type %localappdata%) those files stays after a reinstall/uninstall

You can't. There's a method where you can change it to symlinks but I have no clue on how to do that but even then the symlinks will always go to the drive where your appdata is located. Your appdata is tied to your system OS and which drive it is installed on. This is something Larian designed, and is not something you can change

Hey! So there's a way around this limitation, by using Shell Link Extension - it's a tool with which you can create a link that "tricks" your computer into thinking that a folder is for example on your C drive when in reality it's on your D drive so it doesn't take any space on C:/ but your computer and games won't know the difference. I started using this because I play the Sims with a LOT of custom content and the Sims mods folder also can't be moved so I had to do something, 60GO of custom hair and furniture was too much for my poor computer 💀 It's very easy to use, personally I followed a KZbin video called "Finally.....How To Successfully Move The Sims 4 MODS Over To Another Hard Drive | The Sims 4 | 2021", if you copy/paste this in Google or KZbin you should find it straight away. Just follow the tutorial with Larian's mods folder instead of the EA Sims 4 folder and you should be good! (I used the video to do that with BG3 mods literally yesterday) Hope this helps ✨

Then make sure the generated folder is installed correctly. Also try and only have the unique tav installed. So remove all the mods from your mods folder. You can find a shortcut in bg3mm. It's directly besides shortcut, and there's an icon of a folder. Click on that and it takes you to the folder. Take all the mods into a temporary folder that is created on your desktop or documents folder. While you are in there, check there's no folders, zips, jsons, readmes among the mods. If there are, delete those. Then you test with only unique tav in your bg3mm. If you already have a generated and/or a public folder in your data folder, take those out to the desktop as well so you only have the unique tav generated folder in your data folder and only have the unique tav pak in your mods folder, and in bg3mm. Remember to activate the mod by putting it to left and save/export order.

Probably means your pak file is not installed correctly. Make sure to rewatch that part, especially with load order - so if you have eyes of beholder, ASTRL glow eyes etc you need a patch and a specific load order. Make sure unique tav is low (higher number in bg3mm) on your load order

@@car.1tt0 means you haven't installed the data folder correctly. Delete the generated folder in your data folder. Download the data UT from UT mod page. Make sure it's the one that says "data" Make sure to extract into your downloads folder, and compare the folders and files to UT data (on the download page, you can preview the file so you can see the setup) to make sure everything is correct. When you have extracted it into your downloads folder, a new folder with pop up with the name "unique tav data" with a bunch of numbers. Double click on that and move the "generated" folder into your data folder. If you are unsure where you can find your data folder: Open steam or gog Click on library in steam or installed games in gog Right click on bg3 Hover over "manage" and click "browse local files" in steam and in gog it should say "installation folder" or something alike

Fyi: It was Trips shaders that needs to be updated. Kart has posted an update on the posts on her mod page, and she says it should work after the new trips old shaders update. So that is why you were experincing issues, which btw I had no control over and couldnt help with. I am only making the guides and you as someone who is modding the game, should always read the posts after an update. It should be fine now, and if you encounter bugs; please report it to the appropiate place as I cannot help with those.
