@DF: Vet tips here: (I've played this way too much before) Use number keys to evolve fast, with no unwanted movement. Pay attention to biome when evolving, temperature, pressure, salinity all matter- certain critters for certain places. Larger guys will sometimes ignore smaller critters, especially jellies because of that stupid poison. But piss them off, and they'll _end_ you. Some things can't damage other things. Whales and Oarfish mostly. Most sharks f-up anything. Some things sound better than they are. Some things sound worse than they are. Just try everything. Wiki has a page with all critters. There's various charts of all the evolves as well.

it has been a while since i played this one, but i remember enjoying the thin evolutions. they tend to be parasites that feed by latching onto large creatures and get a percentage of their consumed food. some of the more passive of creatures, and if you find a friendly big creature, they act as your protection from things that can eat you.

Here is a fun kind of exploit I use alot in this game step 1 become a worm get to the deeep area below then get some exp then evolve into the noodle with the mouth then become the holy isopod it can allow to roll into a ball making you immune to most damage as the isopod you can eat most if not all nearby dots in the area so getting exp is ez also you can roll around as the ball if you need to.

Hell yes I still play this game. I usually go by the name of Ghost if anyone plays regularly you might recognize me due to how much I play. If you want to do well just go 10 piranhas, and farm bottom of the swamp. Any big animal that fights you, just circle them with piranhas and have them attack on all sides. 10/10 play. My best score is a 10.26 million with Piranhas. Oh and when playing marlin, dont use your boost jumping out of the water, just swim down a bit and go up, when reentering the water you gain a 33% speed buff, and that stacks up to 3 times for a 99% speed buff. This buff makes it so the next creature you hit bleeds. Also the boost last for 3ish seconds before needing to jump again for the boost. And finally, always start as piranhas and stay as a piranha until tier 5 when you can choose other animals like the octopus and Seal. It's by far the easiest to get xp on becuase of the AI fish below the swamp. I have got to 100k mass in under 5 minutes just farming there as piranhas. This is due to how each piranha you have makes eating one AI fish give you 1k more xp (base 1 k for tier 1) so a tier 10 piranhas, or 10 of them, gives 10 k for each of those fish eaten.

Also Easy Animals to play are Whale: just go into the whirlpools, your not slowed and everything that gets near you can suck in and kill and they can't excape. Orca: Just hold boost and release aiming at someone when your near them, it grabs them and then you can release them into a wall or floor, and hit them Kraken: Just camp on the border of the deeeep and other zones, and once and a while swim up with boost charged. When you use boost you grab a player and swim backwards faster, so you should grab and take them down. It last like 3ish seconds so on the 2nd turn around so when you release you are above them. Ps. You cant grab some animals as a kraken, aka Never fight a whale.

DF use the lamprey strategy basically how the lamprey works is it gets a portion of the food from the creature you're latched onto. The lamprey is right after after the worm you can become the lamprey and then all you have to do is latch onto a giant squid since they cannot suffocate you since they need high pressure then all you have to do is boost at the body NOT THE HEAD then after that they do the work for you since giant squids are generally big eaters and get you a ton of points since you get a portion of their food
