The real issue is the record companies won't fund that music and people won't buy it. There are lots of positive rappers, but we get Glorilla and Zay Osama. Irony of an artist: No artist likes to hear or think that someone is even implying that their music, image and public behavior might have a negative influence on fans. The only reason we are on that path is because we have been tricked and programmed to view things a certain way they stop letting the positive or “woke” rappers be heard or pushed or be the ones on top of the rap game so once the gangsta or ignorant rap is shown that’s who gets the deals who make the money the killas pimps and drug dealers who wants to be like the positive rappers nobody so that’s what the minds gravitated to in our communities they wanna be like who made it look like they made the big money so that’s a big part of why we as a culture are in the state we are in

This ran the gamut of emotions wit the topic. At times I wanted to laugh and others, I wanted to cry from the ignorance! Comic relief, "Laugh at my Pain". When folks are hell bent on "Their Truth" that's all that they are concerned about. Real Shop talk, much respect to Bigga for keeping his composure.

yeah yayo is literally the define version of a dude thats always gonna be a product of where he came from. Hes literally exactly what white ppl wanted us to be and he doesnt even see it. So many dudes like that where im from it sad... they just dnt have money. I love looking at 50 compared to yayo and see someone whos actually a real man compare to yayo. 50 is like him but actually grew up which is why hes doing 10 times better and helping the hood way more

Bigga was contradictory in this shit. You can't say you thump MOP, but then speak against gangsta rap and it's negative influence. Then they was like G Unit started that shit, but when he brought up Onyx Throw Ya Gunz, they want to pivot. Yayo was staying on topic while they kept being shifty when he brought up valid points and cutting Yayo off. Man FOHWTBS!

Math I’m glad you ain’t a sucka and are putting out this interview. One of my favorite podcasts alongside New Rory & Mal, Doggie Diamonds & Karim “Blizz” Johnson, y’all in my rotation every week. Y’all should have Rory and mal as guests someday. Now that I saw the end of this clip, yayo and Murda were outta pocket by how they handled the show. Why I don’t like street dudes and I say that respectfully, and what I mean is they feel they can bully anybody, I just don’t come from that. I was raised to respect people, and as men in a setting you build without over talking and disrespecting. Math you handled it very very well.

That was fire but that wasn’t the case here. You can’t blame G unit for contributing to the violence in the neighborhood, but then say MOP is good music. It’s hypocritical. They might not have meant to be disrespectful to Yayo and Murda , but it definitely came off as such. Again that jewel that you dropped was classic. Salute to you for sharing that!! 🫡

@@chaunt100 agreed, but unfortunately Yayo was right. Ain’t nobody checking for conscious hip hop anymore. Mysonne is the perfect example. When he was locked up everyone was saluting him. The second he came home and started trying to redirect the youth and check the OG’s for being fake. They called him a clown and a bum. The consumer isn’t supporting that type of music anymore and the machine definitely ain’t pushing it either. I hate to say it but there isn’t any money in positivity. Ignorance sells.

like ole boy said we rapped about what we were going thru or seen. the world spins and waits for no man. as the world spins the elements change and as the elements change so does the words of songs. i was born late 80’s and i watched it go from gangster rap to drug dealing music to crunk, snap and dance then drug user music back to drill. it’s whatever the label is pushing. and yes i know i missed a few things in there but you get the point. old heads gotta understand it’s a young man’s game and the young men of his or our era are going thru and live a whole different life from what they did and what we did. 20 years from now it will be these young cats talking bout back in my day it was this and that. that’s just how it goes.

Tony Yayo don't know how iconic he is, G-Unit was literally #1, they took the culture to a different level. I was singing G Unit lyrics at 5 years old. They definitely influenced us in many ways, but he has a point there has always been lyrics that provoked violence, it shows that our words are powerful, because we attract what we manifest; it doesn't matter if we are just rapping about what we see. Music has that kinda power, the cycle is going to be broken.
