I had a brush with alcoholism a while back, and it was bad. I wasn't sober for a whole 2 months. It's a wonder I didn't die. Not that I would have minded at that point. Somehow I managed to stop. I'm not sure why, or what in me pulled me back to reality, but I'm happy for it. Things got a bit better, and I mildly cleaned up my life. I'm still working on it, change doesn't come overnight, but I'm proud of myself and nobody can take that away from me.

Rusty I've been watching your music for maybe 6 years now, and I've watched how you've changed over that time. You've always had great style and been very talented. One of my favourite songs is "Write Me A Letter" because I could really feel the emotion in it as you sing, that feeling of being left alone to have your memory just fade away. What I love about THIS song is that I can really feel the effort you've put into the video and it's art style. I remember in your earlier songs you never really had videos in the sense that you do now. I once had a brief spree of alcoholism when I was younger, and the acting and lighting you use in the video really nail that way I used to feel. The noose and loose collar really hit the right chord. This is my new favourite song of yours.

this is the reason i subscribed honesty the pure honesty of rusty is just amazing i don't see why everyone on youtube has to be fake with their actions. for instance ricegum he uses money to cover his insecurities, but rusty lives how he feels, and makes music something he is passionate about. i don't care if his songs are explicit or have dark meanings, sometimes you need a reality check and these kind of songs do that for me, and so far the best help i've had and even if rusty reads this and thinks "this guys going over the top" well then im sorry but this channel is really important to me, thanks rusty. keep up the good work
