This was one of the first books I read in prison, it's a fascinating read about a Welsh lad who stumbled into being one of the worlds most wanted drug dealers.

I had the absolute pleasure to meet Howard Marks at an event in Crawley, this was a while before he became a ‘celebrity’ (or rather people who knew nothing about him and the real story behind him selling drugs, not like kids nowadays doing it because they think it’s gansta)... anyway he was lovely, friendly, bought us a drink and smoked a reefer or 3 with us and just chatted about this and that. Very sad he died not long ago. The book should be on the A Level Sociology/Psychology reading list, interesting ideas all round. Coincidentally after listening to you I was also reminiscing a book titled’Marching Powder’ crazy jail system in South America! Thanks for another great vid

I've never ever heard a bad word spoke against this guy apart from the American detective police officer who in my opinion was a psycopath and in his own words said he took it personal to catch this nice geezer Howard

And that detective couldn't see the nice guy that Howard Marks really was although everyone else could

I met Howard and smoked a joint with him back in around '99, 2000. He was a cool guy that wasn't up himself at all. It was after one of his talks in the pub when I had a few beers with him. RIP Howard.

It’s mad to now think that weed is legal in most states now. My Aunty lives in New York and from 1st March they legalised pot for medical use. The amount of people going to the doctors complaining of arthritis and back pain has gone up 500% 🤣
@WilliamBonneyPodcast3 жыл бұрын
I know right. hopefully will be legal everywhere soon
