The courtesy flush is hilarious. I wasn't in prison but I was in county for 2 years in the early 2000s and this is VERY relatable. Being locked up absolutely sucks at the time but you learn a lot about yourself. I respect that you are so honest with your audience.

I did 10 years. 4 years first then another 6 because I didn’t get enough of it the first time. You are exactly right about times being different. First 4y was “fun”. Paroled out and back in 18m later. Last 6y broke me down and molded me into a man, a better man than I could have learned to be out in the free world. Prison saved my life and the lives of those that love me. I haven’t found a reason to go back in in over 24 years. I appreciate you and respect the shit outta you for sharing this part of your life. It really touched me
@bethl8624 Жыл бұрын
I’ve told people that going to prison probably saved my life and a lot of people are absolutely shocked when I say that, but it’s the truth. I learned real quick that that place wasn’t somewhere that I wanted to get “too comfortable” with being at.

Facts it will make a person or break a person I did 7 and shouldn't even went I was 16 they waited till I 2as 17 tried me for an adult slapped my ass in a man's prison scared hell yes did I cry again fuck yes sir it last long no the first year was the worst after the first year I didn't even think about the outside world I wasn't out there I was trying to survive in here I got into a little confrontation resulted in some when I was 17 2 weeks into it and because of the nature and everyone's seen how and they gave me a take another charge get lore tomr or go on tbe circuit i was like hell yes i thought is was a chaim gang you worked shit I work hard anyways i was good with it till I found out exactly what the circuit was they put you in segregation for 6 months after 6 months they shackle you up and ship you to another prison for another 6 months I did that for a year and a half segregation for a year and a half they deemed an inhuman to keep an inmate in segregation for more than 6 months at the same penal institution so after 6 months they shipped you to another one for another 6 months that was the hardest time I've ever most people would have gone crazy but I told them cock suckers at 17 you can have my body you will never get my damn mind

You 2 are awesome. I hope you know that. I had so many friends that were lifers. In and out their whole lives..and people that had they had a different upbringing, made better choices, they could of been something. Because a lot had good hearts, but they were broken. My bff's husband had a genius IQ, read all the law books inside and would help people that couldn't afford lawyers legal advice. Smart guy, but addiction, serious childhood trauma, and he was in jail more of his 60 years than not..So when I see people who made better choices and got their life together, stopped putting the people that love them through the stress and heartbreaking. I appreciate it. I'm one of those friend and family, I never got that from mine though. Most are dead. So know what a difference you've made in the lives of not just yourself but the people who love you.

I never went up the road which is what we call prison here in Maryland, but I did about two years in county jail and that shit was not fun. It's so much more strict, stressful, and petty ass ppl in county I had actually wished I went up the road. But it does make you a better person when you get out, it made me appreciate things a hell of a lot more. And it made me more humble. Happy New Year's Adam!
@concretecoater744 Жыл бұрын
We call it up the rd in FL too.. anything over a yr and that's where you went.. most people would ask for a yr and a day so they didn't have to do their time in county.. I did 8 months in the county jail, gladly, and moved on with my life.. that was 25 yrs ago when I was a dumb kid..
@akfortysehven90 Жыл бұрын
@@concretecoater744 yup exactly a year and a day lol I asked for it but because my charges were all dumb low ball time like 30 days in one, 6 months on another they ended up just running my concurrent for like 4 charges. But then I caught like 4 more dumb misdemeanor charges and got like four and a half months, so I never went up the road. County jail is brutal sometimes. Definitely do not get a ton of free time and more room to move around like prison. Plus you don't get no where near as nice commissary stuff as prison, like I heard you can order comforters and PlayStation in MD prisons.
@bethl8624 Жыл бұрын
@@akfortysehven90I done 26 months and the majority of it was done in county. I HATED it, BUT I did get a LOT more “good days” in county as I was a “pod trustee”, so I think that accounted for 36 days off the back of my sentence. They FINALLY sent me to prison when after like 18 months, but while in classification I think I may have gotten a couple days off the back (if that)…then once classified I only got like 6 or 8 “good days” that came off the back. Prison was MUCH better though because at least we got to go outside. Do some prisons really allow inmates to order gaming consoles?? If so it has to be Federal. Lol.
@akfortysehven90 Жыл бұрын
@@bethl8624 oh I definitely got into a work detail to get time off my sentence. I would clean the whole female side of the jail, only the inside. Omg yes we never went outside I missed the sun so much. That's why I said it made me appreciate things a hell of a lot more because you don't realize how bad it is until you get behind them doors and can't leave!

Adam, thank you for this. I went through Statesville in March 09 @ 20y, spent my 21st birthday in IDOC. It was words from the mouths of babies that crushed me in there and nobody ever wants to go back. My 5yo niece said to me on the telephone "It's Don's(my little bro) birthday. You're gonna miss it" and I'm not going to lie, I went back to my cell and cried. That helpless feeling of the world happening around you is the worst kind of internal conflict.

I just listened again, and what the Latinos are saying to each other is "amor" which is "love" is Spanish. At least in my experience, this went way deeper than gang shit. The Hispanic community had a bit of a disregard for gang association when it came to their own people.

Happy New Year 🎉 I have my own trauma, dealing with regional jail tho. No $ book, Family turned on me. I couldn't make bail for an exaggerated charge. No phone card, No mail, No visits. I was 42 and squeaky clean, no record not even a speeding ticket 😮 trapped there for 5 1/2 months and when I finally got in front of a judge, he saw it was a BS charge, he gave me a 1 day time-served sentence. I still have issues in my head over that. But you had to get through every day somehow and funny/crazy things happen daily but so did violent things I didn't see coming until I got punched in the face or whatever. I would listen to your stories because I think it good to learn and listen to others life experiences both good and bad. I follow you so I look forward to seeing what will be blessed with and are willing to share in the coming year. Best wishes.

I did time at ISCI in Boise, and it was horrible, but it was way better than the county jail. Anyways my first night, I went to take a shower, and in this shower, there was an 8×4 foot bench in the center of the room..... and there he was some p.o.s. sex offending flamer with beastiality charges with one leg up on the bench as he was bending over spreading his cheeks open like Jenna fucking Jameson shaving his ass hole. This fucker winked at me and smiled, and as I turned around to leave I told him; " no wonder you're getting transferred to ICC (ICC or Idaho Correctional Center at the time was privately-owned and ranked as the 3rd most violent prison in the country. We called it gladiator school because if you didnt know how to fight, you were gonna learn how.) the boys over there are gonna treat you like the goat you fucked. " 😂😂😂 Like Adam, I did my time and bettered myself, I was either in school, working out, reading, and, writing. I had a couple homies but for the most part I kept to myself and minded my own business. Most of my time was spent writing, which is something I hadn't done in years, because I was too busy selling drugs and using. I buckled down and wrote what I intend to be my first album. One thing I regret not doing is going to the prisons recording studio and learn how to produce because here I am with all these words and no fucking way to put music to these songs. I'm clueless when it comes to making beats. Anyways I'll stop rambling. Thanks for listening/reading. ACal I hope to shake your hand and hug ya again in Idaho Falls. You fucking rock dude!!!

The funniest thing about hearing prison stories is how much it compares to my time in the Marine Corps, 20 years today I retire but the time we do and things we done in the most austere conditions feels relatable to prison stories! With that being said thank God I never went to prison and likewise prayers you never go back 🖍️

Hearing you talk about Spades brought back so many memories for me hahaha. I would play that game for 8 hours a day for months. My partner and i ended up eunning through our entire housing unit, no one would play us. Took our talents on the road, and started playing out on the track against dudes from other units. We wouldnt play "first to 5 check in" pay style. Wed play first to 20 wins gets paid. By the time i left that place, we were crowned the two best white Spades players to ever come thru RCI. I havent been able to find any competitive games of it since i got out, but id love to play again sometime. With a decent partner who can read the board, count the important suits and follow a lead... shit is so much fun.

Great first video. Suggestion would be to organize it a little better. You could probably talk about stuff much longer. Thanks!

I love that you have a testimony for God and are telling them TRUTH and how to be set free spiritually in layman's terms so they can get it and you are encouraging them to better themselves in Jesus and it then comes into the physical realm and they see it happen.

Looking forward to these types of videos. Anything that you could share would be awesome. How you learned from it, how it affected you mentally and physically, we all know someone personally that has served time. A better understanding of what it’s like could help friends and family understand what people go through and how tough it is when you’re released.

Lmao😂😂😂 facts on facts on facts on facts.i gave th state of Mississippi 8 calenders, I also thrived,battled demons in my mind,ain't nobody on this planet gonna beat u up mentally than self,and when you get high,(on wtf ever)u end up avoiding self.when u get to prison,not only do you have to deal with th situation at hand with self,you also have to deal with self about EVERYTHING that you were running from while being high.i,like you hope n pray every day I don't ever have to go back.yes it taught me many lessons,just thought I was a man B4 prison , after prison I FKN KNOW I'm a REAL man,I guess what im trying to say is i was once a problem creator,now im a problem silver.its a state of mind.been out neary 7 years now

Keep on keeping on big bro🤙🏽 You are not just a highly talented musician and entrepreneur but, you are an awesome storyteller! The emotion, humor and humility you bring to a story is something I love to see. And I find myself walking away not only entertain, but also with something to think about for hours and days after the fact. That is a rare and formidable quality to have. He see all here for it brother… Much love and respect for mine to yours 🤙🏽
