I enjoyed the story for 1 reason, and that is that I am somewhat familiar with some of the cities and locations mentioned. U.S. 87 runs through the town I live in. Those in San Antonio know it better as Rigsby. I've always enjoyed stories that contain places outside of the large cities that I'm familiar with.

Catch the first half hour of part 1 and the last half hour of part 2, and you have the entire story, if you don't doze off following the unrealistic dialogue. It's not that the story is awful, just awfully, awfully long.
