Then you are not familiar with a lot of stories from the LGBTI+ community, especially when society is also very homophobic, or the sub-culture or religion they are part of. We can blame parents, but it is actually society that made these parents also think they are doing the right thing. The thing that is best. Love can be a very complex thing, one thing is for sure; the love was conditional and not unconditional they held for their son, family member. And in large part because of concern about society, and how society views this, react to this; with ignorance. What I as a gay man find more shocking is that he had to go through the medical trauma he went through in the day and age this happened. I mean I am a Dutch (Netherlands) cis gay man. In my country being gay was legalized long before 2001 when we legalized same sex marriage. The DSM IV [published 1994] no longer listed homosexuality as a mental illness. The DSM III which was up and running until 1993 did. About the topic gay conversion therapy, probably the first time that it became clear this doesn't work was in 1973. But other dates are als still very influential... and still conversion therapy is given to this day around the globe. I understand how in India this anti-LGBTI+ mentality is more related to the history still of the British Empire ruling over them and their culture and them adapting this mentality mostly form this culture. I'm not Indian, so this is not a hill I am going to die on... but if my sources are correct.... Pre-colonial India was not always that homophobic. Similar with historical aspects of Europe before they became Roman Catholic, and Christen. Not saying all pagan aspects and culture where never or in no way homophobic. But many did not really care about that, as long as you where a good person and particpating and pitiching in with society. But back then bisexuality was also not a taboo... they did not have the same concepts like we did or wording we do with this natural phenomenon, like we do nowdays. But we the LGBTI+ have existed throughout human history, like almost from the beginning most likely. My parents disowned me when I came out in 2003, keep in mind what I said about laws in the Netherlands. I grew up conservative christian, and a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints aka LDS (Mormon). Also part of the reason why I was also not the youngest in that zeitgeist to come out with 23 years old. Very confusing times before my coming out, wanting to be something you are not. Wanting to fit the roles they want you to play, expect you to play. The society also included. It is not like there is no homophobic people left in the Netherlands, there are, and the group is growing but mostly more specific; transphobia of these current times in the western worlds.

My point of view is that Love is a gift and it does not matter what body it is residing in. He was so brave to step up and to be open about himself hoping to make a difference in this world. True its a little strange. But very easy to see the process of how this is why it is. I find a social structure with untouchables weirder... but again....I see how this is why it is... still strange. I find it weirder to combat child marriage with upping the legal age for marriage to 21 (for girls). Understanding why still finding it strange that 18 is not the age, because what if... not all girls go to colleges. What if they want to marry and around the globe would be considered an adult which could get married by her own choice. I find it weird that slavery was abolished ages ago... and still the practice is now more than it was in the age when slavery was legal. I find many of things weird. But understand why this was/is the way it is.

@calvind20542 ай бұрын
Prince or not, he is and will always be what he was born as, gay. There is no pills, magic, rituals or altering that can change a person’s sexuality. But there are people who like to think they can no matter how hopeless it may be. And despite every life lesson they choose to ignore. Places and people in this world, I believe, would be judged for their damnation of a human life. That is if I believed in a higher plain. Whatever it is that causes babies to be born with these genes 🧬 are a thing that nature intended for whatever the reason. This is what I believe, but this will never be acceptable as we all know, unfortunately. So we have just another mystery of life on our hands that the human race rather condemn before any attempt to understand. Not that we will ever understand. What we do know, as a fact, is men have been performing these acts with other men since the beginning of time. Soldiers have done this out in the fields in every civilization. Hence the craze for women when available, as a way to prove their manhood. To others and to themselves. And ‘that’ is no secret and not unknown. Believe whatever you wish, but that will not erase the fact that this true. Civil society definitely makes all of this impossible. What would you do 16th or 17th century, traveling for months just to meet your death, most likely, to fight a war for some King sitting in his castle with every possible comfort. Would you not crave ‘sex’. Then it comes to you…. Even if just a fleeting moment of weakness, it repeats itself, again and again. And that’s not just the feminine men, but a man in general where available. But, somewhere in time, there came a group of men that made writings about what they thought morality should be. Those writings became “the book of God the Almighty”. And that Jesus would someday walk the earth. Did they call this place earth in B.C.? The Bible says so, gave the planet a name. Maybe thanks to the Egyptians though. They studied the stats more fiercely than any other race of people at the time. Aztecs came later. But the man and should only lay with women was added. Why? I went into a rabbit hole trying to explain the origins of homosexuality. Well, I’m going to stop here but leave what I wrote. Places my mind explore in this very sad thing people call life. Peace Out.

I am not writing this to in any way condone the wickedness of his parents. They probably have little or no concept of love. No doubt their marriage was arranged, and love had nothing to do with it. They most likely could not understand why their son could not accept marriage for what it was to them, a business arrangement. The supposed shame was that he did not attempt to produce an heir. Had he gone through with the accepted role and taken lovers quietly, they would most likely have turned a blind eye. I admire what he did. It is not easy to be oneself.
